DK2 Tracker

Hi

Anyone know if it is possible to use only the DK2 camera tracker to play the game ?
Cause sometimes my eyes get tired and I want to keep playing, but without tracking is imposible for me.
Thanks in advance.

Not that I know of. If your eyeas are getting tired though you may not have the rift set up correctly. If you have set the ipd and lense distance up in the config utility and added the ipd to the settings file in ED using the rift should feel just like looking around in real life (a low rez pixellated real life). I get less eye strain with the rift than with my main display

No, it's not possible. The DK2 tracker is an IR camera, not a normal camera, and as such, it only sees light in the IR spectrum.

Even if you had, say, a headband with IR lights, the sync cable that connects the tracker to the HMD is to sync the HMD's light display pattern, so you would need to nail that. Even if you could get the same IR's positioned on your head so they mimicked the Rift, and got the timing down, you would need something like TrackIR or some program to control the avatar's head.

In any case, it would be cheaper and easier to just get TrackIR if you want to play the game on a monitor but still have "look at" functionality

Sorry for bringing up old thread but would like to know before I buy one of them, does HTC Vive have that config utility to set up lense distance , ipd as Oculus ? Really need to know it before I buy one of them.

Ty for answer if any
