DLC 19 Speculation

Wild idea: Lets say me and some others are correct and the Zoo Keeper Pack and this pack switched places, because sooomething was not ready with this one...
What if it was the Flamingo? We know they tried to figure out a way to link color to feeding, like IRL, but abondoned the idea or failed or whatever... But maybe, just maybe tehy figured it out now.

Just trying to make sense of the zoo keeper pack being prior to this one. Because, lets be honest, everything, including the story line in the career scenario, screamed "last pack".

Ok that would make the flamigo a hundred times more interesting to play with and gives way to spoonbill mod.

When does everyone think they’ll drop the next piece of key art? I really want to see the canine at a different angle. I think it’s a coyote cause foxes don’t really use their tails like that. But something seems off about it. It’s almost like it’s a coyote pup and not the adult. Maybe it’s just the angle.

I’m happy with an Americas dlc
Of course
1. Coyote: I will admit not the first canid as I want jackals and tanuki more and I don’t think coyote is a strong headliner but I’m excited, 2 years without a canid.
2. Greater Rhea: it’s about time
3. Bighorn sheep: cool and a new NA addition
4. Saki: it took me a close look to relive that flag was of a hunched over monkey, not my top monkey pick but I’m greatful frontier is making new world monkeys.
5. American flamingo?: low priority but Il take it
Guessing
So far 2 NA, 2 SA, 1 CA so Il speculate the remainders
6. Agouti or coati
7. Ocelot: give the cats something
It looks like from the flags that we will get Scenary pieces and frontier has abandoned exhibits :(
If we get an exhibit, give us the humming birds WTE
If it's an Americas DLC, this would be my animal list.

1. Red Wolf (since it's a critically endangered species) [NA]
2. Black-footed Ferret (there are breeding programs to increase its population) [NA]
3. Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep (I think it's a good addition) [NA]
4. Patagonian Mara [SA]
5. Southern Elephant Seal (it's a personal wish) [SA]
6. Golden Lion Tamarin [SA]
7. Ocellated Turkey [CA]
8. Macaws (WE) // Mexican Alligator Lizard (Exhibit) // San Francisco Garter Snake (Exhibit) (I like its coloration)

I mean if its an Americas Pack.... Theoretically, my walrus could also exist, right? right?
Would be a banger, Mexican scenery with walrus motifs. 👍
I feel like the walrus would be begging to be the mascot though. Same with the sea otter. If another North American animal is in here, I’m hoping for the North American porcupine, Muskox or Wild turkey.

What surprise picks do you think are most and least likely for the final two spots...

assuming we are right about the first five, and if it doesn't go to the coati / ocelot / mara / tamandua / ABB / another monkey favoured predictions, and not another bird.

Also what would be your peak and pit of the following options?

Jagarundi

WE: Pygmy Marmosets

For me -

Most likely of these: I think the American porcupine is not a bad bet, or the marsh deer for ease of implementation.

Least likely: Pygmy marmosets. The animations needed for them wouldn't be worth it for their tiny size.

Peak: Kinkajou or Viscacha for an unusual and enigmatic pick.

Pit: Wild guinea pig. I'd prefer the cottontail if we're leaning towards domestics. I wouldn't hate it but it would suck if it took a coati spot.
I dont think any of these are particularly likely, some even feel pretty much impossible. Just some suprise picks id love to see

A third bird would be most suprising, but also most welcome. Getting two birds already is nice, but the rhea+flamingo combo was also kind of the most boring one possible (not saying they are not needed or usefull, just wholey unspectacular imo).
So having another one that has a more fresh and new feel would be awesome. Southern screamer would be incredible, and a perfect habitat buddy for the rhea and the flamingo. Wild or occelated turkey would also fit in here pretty well. Brown pelican and a duck id be over the moon for aswell, although those feel less likely to me sadly.

A second monkey would also be wonderfull. Squirrel monkey in particular would be an awesome pairing with the saki

Another armadillo is something i havent seen anyone suggest before. Three banded, six banded and big hairy armadillo would all be great to have as a much more zoo appropriate option, atleast as far as europe goes.

A new reptile would also be very welcome to put into SA tropical houses, argentine tegu would fit the packs shrublandy vibe perfectly and the cuban iguana would also not look or feel out of place. A smaller tortoise like the red footed would be great aswell.
Something like the arrau river turtle would be amazing, but im not getting my hopes up for that one.

It is a coyote. lets not start the nit-picking already please. Real life animals vary to an extend that two individuals might look like a different species based on fluffiness of coat, ear lenght, even different patters.I am really tired of people trying to always find something wrong with it. They base the animal on some reference pictures, but real life animals vary alot. Just look at those, all coyotes, but completely different, some more foxy like, some more wolflike, some look like a dog... Please consider that.

Im pretty convinced the last South American spot will be for the coati (although if it’s the Brazilian porcupine I may actually lose my mind)

For the North America pick, Black bear seems like a good choice, but I feel like we’re not considering a major player:

The Bobcat. I know a lot of people won’t like this one but it is the cat of this region and a pretty popular name. I personally wouldn’t mind it as I would like a medium sized cat for the Americas, I know more would like the ocelot but doesn’t matter to me that much.

It's absolutely the last pack. Or was. But since starting work on the pack and release, something changed (probably related to financial stuff and PC2 launch) and they changed their minds to continue support for PZ with what they have.

I don't think they had any of these new animals even in plan when designing Zookeeper's pack.

So I wouldn't expect anything extra, quite the contrary I would expect less. If we get more packs we will se more clones than before. Flamingo was picked because it was easier to make, not because they had new features planned for it.

I do think Frontier's financial state isn't the best right now, but I also think people vastly underestimate how many animals really need more than a handful new animations. Perfect example being the Tasmanian Devil that for the vast majority uses the Raccoon animations, which hardly anyone noticed.

The vast majority of animals that can be added to the game at this point need a similar treatment as the Tasmanian Devil. Reuse existing animation sets and add some iconic animations for that animal, they've been doing that for pretty much every pack since the start, I see no reason to think this won't be the case for this pack.
I mean work smarter not harder 🤷‍♂️

“Um Frontier, hey sorry to bother you but I noticed your American Flamingo has a lot of the same animations as the Greater Flamingo! That is a sign of laziness, and you should spend all your time personally reanimating every single individual animation for every single new animal. Which is definitely a realistic use of your time.”

I hope we get 4 southamerican animal and 3 northamerican. Idk where to count the flamingo because we don't know the species yet.

Rhea - South America
Saki - South America

Big horn sheep - Nort America
Coyote - North America

Flamingo - Could count for both if American Flamingo.

Coati depends on the species as well (if we even get it), white nosed counts for NA and ring tailed counts for SA

So depending on those two the other spot could go either way but i hope for the mara because i'm betting the coati species is the white faced one and that the flamingo is the american flamingo.

I keep seeing theme being mentioned again and again. And not even only here, but also on Reddit and even in CCs videos.

There's obviously no regional theme for this pack. Save for scenery of course. There are Rheas and Sakis in this pack, any American animal is a real possibility.

There's no reason why Desert Bighorn and White Nosed Coati are more fitting picks than generic Bighorn or Ring Tailed Coati. Or why animals like Ocelots, Ring Tails, Roadrunners, Hares...have higher chances of making compared to some tropical or even Arctic animals.

Eurasia pack seemed to have a theme with cover art and music and their "face of the pack", but also had Takin, Sloth Bear and Hermann's Tortoise.

Anything goes
