I think what I mean by this is the - not really zoo animals but what you find in your back garden or while driving in your car (be it dead or alive) - squad. The core members being the skunk, raccoon, armadillo and now coyote.
For Europe it’s the red fox and the European badger for us…
I think reception would be a lot cooler if we didn't have a guaranteed bird (likely two) and a very plausible New World monkey.
Same for us in Canada (plus raccoons and skunks), hence why the Twilight Pack was my least favourite DLC pack made so far
I am considerably happier with the coyote than I would have been for almost anything else, and I genuinely thought they were never happening. They absolutely nailed it as far as I’m concerned.
The other animals they haven't teased have to be interesting. So far nothing shown so far is from the top 5 of the metawishlist. I'm betting on coati for sure.
If you only want to play big ABC zoos, maybe? But you could also want to build a local wildlife center, rehabilitation centers for injured animals etc. Plus, for people located elsewhere than you, these animals ARE in zoos. Racoons are for example quite common in European zoos.
IT will probabl be Not my favourite Pack but I am Happy we soon get more animals. And let us see what animal will come alongside. The Monkey could also be the Howler Monkey in my opinion. Sure the White face in the Deko also let me tend towards Saki but this could also just make the Monkey more visible on the Deko.
Well, I'm a little torn on this pack. On the one hand, if that is a Saki, I am so down, not my most wanted New World Monkey, but I'll gladly take it. I've also been wanting a new Bighorn Sheep, mostly the Desert subspecies. A new flamingo that's much brighter red or pink is also welcome. I'm also down with the Rhea, it's not my favorite animal, and personally find it kind of boring, but its a huge community want and I'll take more SA rep. On the other hand, I literally couldn't care less for the Coyote, especially as the flag animal. I think it falls into the same category that the Wild Boar fell into for me, less of a zoo animal, and more of a "pest." Which isn't really fair, they're both great animals, I just don't personally care for them in zoos. So I'm leaning towards liking this pack so far, just need to see what else we will be getting.
Also, if we get an Exhibit animal in this pack, what are your favorites since the region has been narrowed down? I would love a species of Horned Lizard

mmmm, I’ve definitely need tons of skunks and the occasional fox here in SC. I’m sure I’ve come across a coyote before and assumed it was a dog, I’ve seen wild coyotes around often enough
Tbh I think it’s in everyone’s best interest if this is just a desert americas pack.
Because if it is our one and only americas pack, and 3 of the 7 species are a flamingo clone, a coyote and a bighorn - my lord a lot of iconic and highly requested American animals have been wholly shafted..

If we step away from the specific species of the meta-wishlist, we have two birds which are both very common in captivity and a New World monkey (which, while not the most-requested, is both fairly popular and probably much easier to make than a spider or howler), and two animals which are relatively easy clones. The coati would be the most direct wishlist pick and I agree it has a very good shot of making it in.
I don't see much roadkill anymore now that I live in Philadelphia proper, but when I lived in a more exurban/rural area the most common roadkill animals were raccoons, skunks, opossum, and most of all groundhogs.
The good thing about the coyote being up-front on the cover art is there is no doubt it is there. No ''Maybe it could be something else'' or whatever. It is there, I can't do anything about it, I might as well ignore it or use it for what it is. Then move on and hope there is some gold among the unknown slots. At least one of those slots can't be a coyote (I wish I dared to say it can't be another dog)
I would be fine with both! Would be great for North American zoos, and the monkey/rhea/flamingo alone make this pick a hit for me, maybe the best since Eurasia.
