DLC18 discussion and predictions

I will scream. And not of joy. No more domestics please.

The alpine goat should've been the pygmy goat from the get goat. Now it missed it's chance. I would've prefered the pygmy goat but not now with the probability of just one pack left.
I think the pygmy goat would be my lone exception that wouldn't make me scream, TBH. Haha. But I hear you! And it's not even that I want it... I just know that Frontier generally likes to implement other animals with features like that as time goes on.

It also wouldn't need to be a barnyard animal. Though I'm not sure what it could be otherwise.

The main problem with these whole sponsored idea is that frontier has openly worked with these zoos already for the base game and dlcs, it doesn't make any sense to sell a dedicated real zoo pack that features a fraction of the zoos key animal species. It worked with planet coaster with the Ghostbusters dlc since that was a great brand to pair with a coaster themed game, it just doesn't work with a zoo game.
There'd be a way I think they could have done it earlier in the game's development using a niche approach to DLC theming but it's not worth explaining because that ship has sailed. LOL

The key difference between zoos and a property like Ghostbusters too is that zoos are always changing. If they released a "Chester Zoo" pack with animals and scenery pieces... That zoo might cease holding those animals sometime in the near-future. Or that section of the zoo might need sudden renovations. It's just not very effective.

The Ghostbusters franchise is also set in stone. It will grow and adapt over time but... The movies and TV shows already released will always be canon. And there's far more brand recognition. Your average American has no idea what "Chester Zoo" is or what it entails. Conversely, I feel like your average ex-US individual might only peripherally be aware of San Diego or the Bronx Zoos.

Ngl any extra pack is a joy so we should just spam it then
4+1 domestics + scenery could still be a banger pack, just gotta make them cool
Lop bunny, guinea pig, muscovy duck, domestic yak and budgies would still qualify as an amazing pack and truth be told we can never have enough farm props cause chances are that whatever people use on a farm to take care of animals is proaply also usefull in a zoo
Another thing could be including animals that double as wild and domestics. Turkey, guineafowl and mallard/muskovy duck come to mind
Even with the barnyard pack, a Children’s Zoo Pack/ Education pack would still be perfect for something like this. You can have your mix of wild and domestic animals, and have the opportunity for great props and maybe even new mechanics.
  1. Squirrel monkey
  2. Patagonian mara
  3. Domestic rabbit (bunny)
  4. Domestic Yak
  5. Mallard duck/ Muscovy duck/ Mandarin duck
  6. Helmeted guineafowl
  7. WTE: budgies
Now give us some cool education prop pieces and I think we have a great pack

The they better do the patagonian mara instead.

Or a duck. We all want ducks.

This just reminded me of an earlier "idea" for a broad, general pack akin to the Zookeeper Collection: An "Evolution" or "Adaptations" themed pack!

It's a bit of a cop-out as all animals have evolved/adapted to their environments but... It would work for so many of the highly-requested animals as they all have something that is relatively unique about them and they serve an important ecological niche. And it would be a nice excuse to incorporate more educational/children's zoo-ish scenery (along with more "generic" zoo pieces).

Actually, if it's an "Animal Pack" with a bigger-than-usual roster and a bit of scenery? This theme makes even more sense than the keeper one because it lends itself to scenery more...

That would be a great Idea, for a children zoo area pack I would do:

North American Porcupine
Reeve's Muntjac/Southern Pudu
African Spurred Tortoise
North American River/Sea Otter
Patagonian Mara
Mandarin Duck
Budgies [WTE]
180+ Scenery Pieces
15$

good packs, marine iguana i would like happening but it quite literally dies in capitivity

Íf we ever get another iguana my bet is definetly on the rhinoceros iguana.
They are easily big enough to be habitat animal and due to them being mainly terrestrial frontier doesnt have to struggle with climbing for them. They would also finally add a carribean animal into the game and a new type of habitat reptile (or reptile in general because ngl our reptile selection stinks).
Also this isnt really an ingame concern but in real life they are really docile and well tempered animals so they would be good fits for walktrough tropical houses and mixed habitats with other animals.
Personally id still prefer the argentine tegu over them but these would be amazing to have aswell, ideally both but frontier only gives 1 reptile a year to the reptile fans :(.

Friends, could this silence be because a new game is being developed?
Well we kinda know planet coaster 2 is coming soon but the delay/silence is part because there fired all the community managers and the console release pushed back the schedule to July/August instead of June for the summer dlc. At this stage it's completely normal while we await the steam database files to be updated to give us a clue when the next dlc is coming.
