DLC18 discussion and predictions

Íf we ever get another iguana my bet is definetly on the rhinoceros iguana.
They are easily big enough to be habitat animal and due to them being mainly terrestrial frontier doesnt have to struggle with climbing for them. They would also finally add a carribean animal into the game and a new type of habitat reptile (or reptile in general because ngl our reptile selection stinks).
Also this isnt really an ingame concern but in real life they are really docile and well tempered animals so they would be good fits for walktrough tropical houses and mixed habitats with other animals.
Personally id still prefer the argentine tegu over them but these would be amazing to have aswell, ideally both but frontier only gives 1 reptile a year to the reptile fans :(.

If I'm recalling right, we've gotten 4 primates out of 17 packs (and one anniversary Lemur). As much as the game needs more primates and they would be deserving of this kind of pack, it's almost certainly not going to happen.

ETA; 3 of those 4 have been from Asia as well, Africa and South America, both also well known for primates, combined have received a grand total of one monkey and one lemur in 56 months.

I looked into it, all my posts from June seem to be gone? Weird, I don’t think I did anything? Maybe it’s a glitch?
My June posts aren't showing up when I search this thread. I don't think any were deleted, though. I was able to find a few of them by flipping through the individual pages. Maybe there is an issue with the search system?

Most essential primates right now are:
Another Baboon {Really needed right now especially Gelada/Hamadryas, but Olive wont hurt either}
Spider Monkey {Brings a beloved primate with unique animations}
Howler Monkey {Brings a unique and vocal monkey to the game}
Mantled Guereza {An amazing monkey for African Exhibits}
De Brazza {Some of the most known Primates from Africa}
South American Monkeys & African Monkeys in General

Somewhat Essential Primates:
Squirrel Monkeys {A small and good monkey for Educational areas}
Golden Snub Nosed Monkey {For Chinese and Asian Exhibits}
Lion Tailed Macaque {Amazing Indian Primates that are quite iconic}
Langurs {General monkey that can be seen in zoo's all over the world}
Coquerel's Sifaka {Adds more for Madagascar habitats}
Aye-Aye {Amazing and would add a good nocturnal primate to Nocturnal houses}

Black Buck
Honey Badger
Gerenuk

I highly doubt we are ever gonna see a pack sponsored by a real zoo.
Sponsoring really is about advertisment and return of investment, and frankly speaking that really isnt worth it for a zoo.
When coca cola or monster energy sponsor something they get exposure and advertisment so people are more likely to buy their products, but that only works because everyone has easy access to their products.
For a zoo advertisment really only makes sense on a local scale, noone is gonna travel to another country because of a Planet Zoo DLC, so paying for essentially international adds is pretty much pointless
Whilst I agree most zoos wouldnt collab with planet zoo simply because they are to small and they simply will not get a return on the investment I can however see it working for more internationally branded zoos such as the disney animals parks and san deigo which are international pulls. Also zoo collabs are more complex then just advertising and money since zoos are becoming beacons for conservation many of them may take on the small financial risk to support their conservation efforts by increasing knowledge of the animals they support through planet zoo or use it as a pr stunt to get their zoo more well known in general.

A collaboration between planet zoo and an actual zoo likely will not be resource intensive for the zoo since the only thing that frontier would require is the licence to use the name of the zoo. Of course things such as sponsored visits by the devs and talking with keepers would help the production of the pack but this wont impact the zoo heavily so it isnt a huge financial risk to the zoo and if a deal is reached where a percent of pack sales go to the zoo or conservation efforts it would be very beneficial to the zoo. Frontier is the most at risk in this collab since a majority of the packs work falls on them and any licensing fees would be a cost on frontier so its unlikley not because its a risk to the zoos but a risk for frontier.

What they could do is Planet Zoo: Zoo Expansion, with taking animals from san diego, chester, animal kingdom without having to do any licensing as these zoos do not own any animals lmao

I'm not disagreeing with you here, but based on Frontier's past actions with Primates, we're likely only going to get another primate or 2 at most if there's just one pack left, 3 at most if there's 2 packs left. And even that's pushing it. a New World Monkey and the Baboon seem like the most likely candidates - Baboons is another "ABC" animal that's well known, and I honestly cannot yet accept that Frontier is going to leave South America with one monkey in total - though they could do just that.

Assuming the dlc won’t be coming out anytime soon, I hope in the next unlocked we get a hint. For the sake of the fans if they are actually planning to not release the dlc until the Fall that would be a long time with no information.

Though, maybe everything being pushed out a month or two isn’t unrealistic. In which case we might see a steam update anyway now.

I don't think we are that far away really from a dlc, the steamdb is steadily being updated everyday even if it's just the 2 unimportant files.
