DLC18 discussion and predictions

  • Old World (Pallas Cat + Hamadryas Baboon + Markhor)
  • New World (Geoffroy's Spider Monkey + White-nosed Coati + Golden Lion Tamarin)
  • Birds (Greater Rhea + Mallard Duck + American Flamingo)
  • Exhibit (Panther Chameleon + King Cobra + Seba's Short-tailed Bat)
  • Update (African Leopard) + Melanistic Zebra + Piebald Moose + Leucistic Timber Wolf + New Hats
I'd like this decently.
I mean yeah that would be the greatest pack of them all, maybe I would swap the mallard for a wood duck/ mandarin duck/ or whistling duck. But otherwise I would be happy with it, a duck of any kind is still a win in my book!

Now I will say odds are it wouldn’t be a larger pack, but fun to think about as a cool what if.

Mountain: Markhor, Hamadryas Baboon, Pallas Cat
Savanna: Secretary Bird, African Spurred tortoise, Kirk's Dik Dik
Rainforest: Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo, Short Beaked Echidna, Coquerel's Sifaka
Option A: Woodlands: American Black Bear, Greater Rhea, Coati
Option B: Tundra: Walrus, American Black Bear, Musk Ox
Option C: Desert: Greater Rhea, Patagonian Mara, Burrowing Owl

I genuinly think regarding the fact that only the domestic is an actual zoo animal and most people not even knowing that their are wild yaks its pretty save to say that its the other way around with people wanting a yak actually meaning the domestic the bast majority of the time
Oh, fine, then we will assume that what they want are domestic yaks. Then why is an animal that is widely found in zoos "uninspired"? I saw some people want a certain animal before, and the reason they gave was that it is common in zoos? At that time, "uninspired" was not used to describe these animals, so why did it become "uninspired" when it came to yaks?

Its an obvious choice and to me atleast theres nothing wrong with that.
Uninpired is just the more negative way to say that.

Something more unexoected like the tree roo might be a bit more "inspired", but in the end it all depend on of the animal is a good addition or not and i case of the domestic yak i can understand people who find it a little boring but there defenetly is a place for it in the game

What do if this isn’t the keyart!
Then why go out of the way to have the baboons be a 3d render, why do thar extra work to just reveal that there are multiple key art.
Honesty if we’re talking specific species I think the hyrax has the greatest chance of making it. If they are tying in African species with Asia for a mountains pack the hyrax just makes the most sense to come alongside the baboon. The aoudad sadly is unlikely cause of the Markhor but the hyrax is very unique in general compared to the roster of 3 we have so far.

Plus look how cute they’re like little potato’s

So updating my list from before:
Highlands (or Uplands - a name I thought of last night as well) Animal Pack
  • Pallas Cat
  • Hamadryas Baboon
  • Markhor
  • Rock Hyrax
  • Golden Pheasant or Rhea if they wanna do something simpler
  • Spectacled Bear
  • Another ungulate (Yak, Serow, etc.)
  • Chameleon species, Titicaca Frog, or Giant Salamander (E)
I feel like people are too focused on what the theme is that they fail to see what actually could be included in that theme. I mean come on if we get the roster above that’s one of the best packs at this point (imo).
Know that's what I am talking about a true hyrax fan. I actually agree, in my opinion it falls in a similar category to the skunk.
I believe it's a jake post, like that Chicken, ot Girafe and Capybara
I hope, I mean even the post the hippos look upset, also people actually messed with moo dang, poring water on her and what not so a walk-through pygmy hippo habitat might be worse than the anteater walk-through habitat
