call me an optimist but the roster is what it is. speculating on what “could have been” only sours what we have on hand. never wanted and detested the African leopard at first but here i am using them in a zoo of mine. while these picks might not have been my first i just get a headache with everyone going “but muhhhh x, my y my z!!” it’s like, life is so much better when you enjoy what’s on your plate idkkkk besties im hype

Male baboon still does not look good.
Good enough though, like the pallas cat anything improving over the modded animals is an animal worth having.

I'm notoriously very salty about stuff, but at this point in time I cannot really complain. Whatever we got here is better than nothing. Even if I am not completely happy with the roster I have to appreciate the fact that this pack exists.

Looks better than before, but the body fur is still too stiff. I do admit it is probably a tricky thing to master.
After looking at it in the actual trailer, I can confidently say that it's just a modular gift shop.

That is the best way to be at this point and I need to be better about it too. What we've got is what we've got and we're almost certainly not getting anything else. And if by some extremely unlikely chance we do get another pack, that's even better than what we have now.
For now though, we make the best we can with it, I (or any other individual) was never going to get every animal that I wanted. But overall, incredibly happy with our mammal roster, mainly just one sticking point and that being just one New World Monkey. Sure there are animals I would rather have not been included that were and would replace them with other species, I'm sure every single one of us has. Hard to believe that any one person would look at the roster and say "that's 100% what animals I would have picked and would have not wanted another other animals besides these". And sure, I definitely felt that South America needed some more love in the last year. But again, it's what we've got, no changing that, and I'm thankful that the official content ran for as long as it is.
And of course, with official support being over after this release, I'm now going to turn to mod usage for Sandbox, where I can more realistically build the zoo roster of my dreams.
The Muntjac is looking at the Dik-Dik in envyOf course, there are still some animals I would like to see in the final roster, but I wouldn’t trade any of those we already have because I know they made someone somewhere very happy.

True. I'm still a little on the "but muhhh walrus, my honey badger, my echidna" bandwagon though, but not as much.
I'm happy that they included the Spectacled Bear and Sifaka. I'll probably use the Dik Dik and Pallas Cat because they seem interesting even though they weren't species high on my wishlist. I don't really care for the Hamadryas Baboon, Markhor, or African Spurred Tortoise personally. I wish they would've made the pack a little larger and added in the Tree Kangaroo and Civet which were leaked in the dictionary.
Well, I can't help it, but somehow it makes me happy that PZ is coming to an end. Even if my wish animals leaves a lot to be desired.
But finally, I can just enjoy the game as it is and plan with what I have.

I expected at least the Coati and Secretary Bird in the last pack, but oh well. Shame really, but there would always be another top meta wishlist animal even if those were added. Although the Coati exclusion really hurts, because there is not really a good base for a coati mod. At least with a functional tail.
Although I wanted things like Ethiopian wolf, tanuki, and coati, there was unfortunately no indication that they were ever coming. It's a shame that we were teased with dictionary animals that we'll never get though, like the Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo, Echidna, Secretary Bird, and Civet. All Frontier had to do was make it a 11 pack finale with those 4 animals added and this would be a peak ending pack. Even though I love the idea of a Civet species, I know that one was not for sure considered a leak. If the pack included the other 3 dictionary species mentioned and was a 10 pack finale, that would still be a peak ending for the game as well. I'm still holding up a tiny, miniscule amount of hope that there might be an end of year December/Christmas surprise that releases the Tree Kangaroo, Echidna, and Secretary Bird as a final goodbye, either for free which is unlikely or a paid "deluxe" type dlc that just includes the animals but no other content. I'm personally neutral on the Echidna and Secretary bird but I know alot of other people wanted them. I really, really want the Tree Kangaroo though. I didn't realize how much I wanted it until I realized it wasn't in the pack.

They would rather give us all kinds of antelope, but not one more deer, which I don't understand.
It's just what one would find more in western zoos, antelopes especially in African areas are thought more of a traditional zoo animal rather than a deer.
