So i was going through oceanina mods and thank god we have great quality mods for that region. Echidna looks absolutly fantastic, so does the victoria crowned pigeon, black swan, numbat, bilby and perentie. So those are at least some animals i won't miss didn't make it in... except for the tree kangaroo unfortunally.
The bilby and echidna mods don't fit my standards for mods unfortunately, both are on the aardvark rig which doesn't move like either animal does IRL. The echidna model is very well done at least aside from the fact it has pinnae/external ears (which is super distracting for me haha), but the bilby still looks more like a blue aardvark than a real bilby to me.
My top 5 most wanted animals are echidna, tree kangaroo, perentie, bilby and rock-wallaby. Of those five, the perentie and rock-wallaby are the only ones I think you can make a great mod for using existing rigs and animations (maybe Cake can work their magic). The current yellow-footed rock-wallaby mod is fantastic, one of my favourite mods of all, so no complaints there. The perentie mod was awesome when it released (the patterning work is still really good) but now that we've got a far higher quality varanid model to work with thanks to the water monitor, I really hope we get an updated one sometime.
I use the black swan and numbat out of the mods you listed though, as well as about 15 other Australian animal mods. Mods don't need to be 100% perfect for me to use them (but it's even cooler when they are!), they just need to look and move around believably and not feel out of place with the official game. While I'll always prefer official animals, I love how modding allows me to have all these niche species and alternatives to existing animals that I think I'd never be able to have in-game otherwise, they really make my builds feel so much more real. I love having brolgas, grey kangaroos, hairy-nosed wombats, native waterfowl and so many other animals that are zoo staples here!
