As I have no interest in Donkey Kong DIrect (when is that even?), no issue with tomorrow.
My guess:
June 24 announcement, 25 on Frontier Unlocked they will show all species (Barnyard did so I think) and 30 will be dlc

Pretend I was at Walmart and cleaning my apartment...WHAT happened and why does confirm DLC 20 will have an elephant and a deer, as well as no semi-aquatics??

Even if the dlc comes out on the 30th and the challenge lasts until the 30th, the new species can be given away even for only a few hours.... unless I'm misunderstanding something, because I don't see any other solution
They usually published pictures of species, only with Barnyard they didn't do it day by day, so I think here they can do it on Frontier Unlocked, just like with Barnyard
The next Community Challenge (start date: 6/24) is on the website, and there's some data in the HTML showing which species it applies to. It's semi-aquatics, and it includes the Bornean Elephant and Pere David's Deer. From this we can reasonably assume that these two species are coming in the next DLC, and that no other semi-aquatic species are, or else they would've been listed as well.
So there was a leak where a modder spotted something in the code about which animals are going to be in the next community challenge, the theme was semi-aquatic animals and the list included the Bornean elephant and the Pere-David's deer
So those two are confirmed and also notably no other new species in the list of semi-aquatics

Statistically not a different size from mainland elephants apparently, but considering it's a game, they're going to be smaller.That's a bit much isn't it? It's okay to not love elephants but it is very different from their big cousins both physically and behaviourally, and is an incredible conservation story, very much at threat of extinction. If you are very very lucky you might see them when you go to Borneo, and I very much doubt you would be disappointed if you did.

Saber tusks is an interesting rare mutation (there's two individuals by the looks), but I'm pretty sure model changes as rare variants isn't going to happen.
Was expecting to wake up with an annoucement and instead wake up with a leak, weird timing.
But well about the leaks: Everybody said it, but who actually though the elephant was a good idea? It's basically the definition of pointless addition: unpopular, uncommon and unisteresting.
As for the deer... It's very cool actually, kind of hoping for the blackbuck, but we have a deer that isn't cold tolerant.

Yeah, an announcement should remain possible for another one and a half hours today, but I also think it is most likely tomorrow or on Thursday or so.

3 more slots. What would you use them for?
I'm going to have to give this more thought but my first instinct is:
1. Another primate. Preferably a langur. I'd love a Vietnamese one like the Douc or Delacour langur.
2. A loris, any loris
3. Gotta have a bird, right? A gorgeous pheasant would go well here.
3b If no bird I selfishly want a squirrel.
