DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

Really do hope they continue with the primate trend, we've gotten 3 back to back which is looking very promising, and with still lots more options I see no reason to stop. Gelada, Langur, Lion Tailed Macaque, Colobus Monkey, Golden Tamarin, Howler, SO many primates 😭 Weirdly, I'm more feeling a primate from Africa or Asia since we just got a SA one, (I know SA still needs more primates)

I'd say my top 10 most wanted primates are as follows:
1. Black Howler Monkey
2. Gelada
3. Geoffroy's Spider Monkey
4. Aye-Aye
5. Emperor Tamarin
6. Angolo Colobus
7. Bengal Slow Loris
8. Gee's Golden Langur
9. Wolf's Guenon
10. Pygmy Marmoset

On a more serious note (not that I'm not dead serious about wanting both the bat-eared fox and black-backed jackal in particular), just a moment ago I checked what species I've seen at the most facilities that isn't in Planet Zoo. It was exactly what I predicted: the North American river otter. I know it's a completely useless pick for non-Americans, and I imagine that even a lot of Americans would say that the ASCO covers whatever niche they'd use it for, but for me, I think that just goes to show how indispensable it is.

For comparison's sake, here's a chart showing which species (subspecies/breeds largely lumped together, red pandas and African porcupines lumped together) I've seen the most frequently at ~50 facilities. I posted it in the relevant thread on the Animals board yesterday but I'm just so pleased with the visualization that I'm reposting it here. If it were in the game, the NARO would be tied for fifth, at 17 distinct facilities.

And lastly, to bring it all together, what are all of the species I've seen most often that aren't in the game?

17: North American river otter
13: North American black bear
12: common eland, white-tailed deer
10: grey-crowned crane, scarlet ibis

Aside from a few aviary birds (bald eagle, king vulture, blue-and-gold macaw, and laughing kookaburra), that's every single species that hits double digits for me! So in short, these are objectively the six most important species they could add to the game. Thank you.

Mine is drumroll please the Patagonian mara!

What curveballs are left? It'll be the Ice Age Animal Pack.
  • Woolly mammoth.
  • Woolly rhinoceros.
  • Smilodon.
  • Direwolf.
  • Megatherium.
  • Elephant bird.
  • Megaloceras.
Plus a few pieces to build bone-and-hide tents and cave art pieces.
Isnt that pretty much out of the question with them holding the JWE license?

not really jurrasic is in the name that franchise has mostly focused on stuff from the mesozoic so I doubt cenozoic stuff especially those found in the pleistocine and could of interacted with humans would be infringing on their licensing. It would however come into to direct conflict with prehistoric kingdom which is arguably a much better game and has a chokehold on that era of extinct animals.

Personally I dont want to see any extinct animals besides the handful that have gone extinct so recently that they were found in zoos prior to extinction. Even then I would only want animals with alot of images or well preserved specimens since I want as little speculation as possible in the games animal designs.

I Don't Know Why, But I Have A Hunch The Next Pack Will For Some Reason Be Another Go At Australasia And This Will Be The Roster.View attachment 428816
replace the horse with literally anything else and it will be great. the southern hairy nosed wombat is an animal I have desperately wanted considering in australia it is as common if not more common than the wombat type we already have ingame

unfortunately even though they are literally starving to death and destroying our limited alpine ecosystems by literally tearing up and polluting our river beds people still think the "brumby" are iconic to australia and should be protected.
Few things infuriate me as much as the “debate” surrounding brumbies (which shouldn’t even be a debate in the first place), so adding them to the game would be one of the few things that Frontier could do that would actually make me angry

I’ve been to quite a few zoos that have both wombats too, and given the southern hairynose is my state’s faunal emblem I also have a particular bias towards them haha
