One of the modders, for whatever reason, was looking at the source code of the community challenge page on the planet zoo website. Ctrl + U brings up the source code, and then Ctrl + F searching for elephant finds it easily - https://www.planetzoogame.com/community?version=pcHow did you find out about the next Community Challenge? And the information about Bornean pygmy elephant and Père David's deer?
No I know nothing. So ...... Any idea of The New DLC?
Nah, they're shoe-ins now. Moderators make statements to save face so people don't keep doing itAlright from now on Deer and Elephant are educated guesses
Are you suggesting that this extends to viewing the HTML of the website through a function that comes standard in every browser or is this reminder unrelated to any recent activitiesThis is a reminder not to discuss any information that is gained from hacking into the game files, on the company's official forum.
Nobody hacked the game files. This is a reminder not to discuss any information that is gained from hacking into the game files, on the company's official forum.
It's against the rules, and the information is never reliable. If Frontier haven't officially announced something, then it's irrelevant until they do.
No I know nothing.
It is unintended information, that's for sure. Are you suggesting that this extends to viewing the HTML of the website through a function that comes standard in every browser or is this reminder unrelated to any recent activities
It was information published to their website, intentional or not. It was not obtained by "hacking into the game files", or hacking into anything by any stretch. If they intend to place a gag order on this information, it would be nice to know, because it would presumably extend to other accidental website updates such as the Planco Dictionary thing from last year.It is unintended information, that's for sure.
I suspect it's also related to code that goes into the game, otherwise it wouldn't list the species of a category.
Yeah, Frontier has some history with provinding accidentally unintended information: they leaked 3 animals from the aquatic pack and the sun bear in a video about making animals. Then they published a photo named North America Animal Pack when they were just teasing the pack. Later was the dictionnary leak. And now this one. I understand it's a pain in the donkey for the company when these leaks happen, but they can't put the blame on us.It is unintended information, that's for sure.
No, not strictly. But getting information that is clearly not mean for public display (as evidenced by having to look at the html code of a website), and then posting it on a company's official forum still isn't what I would call a good thing to do.Are you suggesting that this extends to viewing the HTML of the website through a function that comes standard in every browser or is this reminder unrelated to any recent activities
So it would appear. In which case I suggest that you choose you words more carefully next time you post about stuff like this, because it's not my job to double check when you talk about people getting into the source code and leaking information, that you mean from the game files or from some website.Nobody hacked the game files.
I thought you guys where doing a elaborate joke with ducknight, I DIDN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS WHERE SERIOUSThe next Community Challenge (start date: 6/24) is on the website, and there's some data in the HTML showing which species it applies to. It's semi-aquatics, and it includes the Bornean Elephant and Pere David's Deer. From this we can reasonably assume that these two species are coming in the next DLC, and that no other semi-aquatic species are, or else they would've been listed as well.
Hyrax is, technically, still on the tableI thought you guys where doing a elaborate joke with ducknight, I DIDN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS WHERE SERIOUS
For my other 3 I would saySo...Asia Animal Pack!
And we've got:
Honey Badger
Lion-Tailed Macaque
Bornean Pygmy Elephant
Pere David's Deer
3 more slots. What would you use them for?
I'm going to have to give this more thought but my first instinct is:
1. Another primate. Preferably a langur. I'd love a Vietnamese one like the Douc or Delacour langur.
2. A loris, any loris
3. Gotta have a bird, right? A gorgeous pheasant would go well here.
3b If no bird I selfishly want a squirrel.
Hate to break it to you… but that’s a no.Mandarin Duck
I didn't even think of that, let's hope it happensHyrax is, technically, still on the table
Oh come on have some fun, but you are probably rightHate to break it to you… but that’s a no.
