Yeah I’m hoping it’s a Lady Amherst’s pheasant, golden pheasant, or a Himalayan monal would be amazing! On one hand Frontier has added a lot of birds lately, on the other the have left birds out of some DLCs/ mostly did pack filler “clones” for birds.

I think chances are good of getting a bird, but at this point the bird roster is still pretty bad. Especially when you compare them to other animal groups. I mean a third elephant? Like come on. It’s been years since we got a crane, and years since we got the swan. We haven’t had a (wild) game-bird in years either.

You know, the pack being Asia in general technically puts a tree kangaroo back on the table, but neither of the two that anyone actually wants.

Junglefowl? The progenitors of the chicken? A cheap way out of course, but at least beautiful.

There won't be a duck or crane since there wad no mention of them in that leak. I have a slight hope for a pheasant. But if we are being realistic it will be a junglefowl (aka chicken in a colorful reskin)

... Which i woudn't complain tbh. I really like the sussex chicken, but i feel like we need more colour in our bird variety and a junglefowl would fit the bil just right.

I think that would make the pack meh to me. Blackbuck, honey badger and deer are strong, but the others weak (also because I am not the primate fan despite of course being one myself)

I am also on team jungle fowl, and I got to be honest I also wouldn’t hate the green peafowl. If the difference between a bird or no bird is a “clones” (like the Rhea or Flamingo) then yeah I want a bird that’s a clone.

Give me some variety! I know I’m harping on this point a lot lately, but if we can get every flavor of some animal groups (grey wolf and arctic wolf, bengal tiger and Siberian tiger, African leopard and Amur leopard, etc) then I’m down with two flamingos, two chickens, or two peacocks.

Not a single tree roo species found outside lydekker line, which defines the easternmost extension of oriental animals. Group has pretty much nothing to do with Asia.

Are storks semiaquatic like the cranes too? I didn't know that. I've always seen the storks in belltowers in the cities far from water haha.

Painted stork, jabiru stork, maguari stork, saddle billed stork... Are all species of water dwelling storks. Tbh for me storks and wetlands have always been interlinked. Even the white stork.

I'm very glad we're getting Pere David's deer but I don't like that it's making me choose between a bird and the nilgai (blackbuck and raccoon dog are non-negotiable to me)

I wouldn’t count on Nilgai. It’s great and I love it but I think 2 specific species from one country/region of Asia is a maximum we can count on.

So I would count on one more species from SEA and one from China/northern Asia. Plus one of them would probably be cat/dog.

I think its a stretch to call cranes semi aquatic in the first place, but if they are i think most stork species would aswell.
