Newcomer / Intro Do I really need better thrusters?

I've made mine combat-capable so I can just destroy any pirates that might dare to challenge me. :) It still carries 756 tons of stuffs.

Let me guess: you engineered the :devilish: out of it - and still don't have any hardpoints left for the mining tools ;) ?

Yea, T9 is missing the hardpoints to be able to do both combat and mining effectively.
T10 has the hardpoints, but lack internals

While i managed to have fully operational mining Conda that still had 2 large hardpoints able to kill pirates and still having solid shields and 320t cargo
But Conda is sort of a magic ship

No you don't need them....but holey moley do they make a distance in short haul runs from my FC to the nearby station. They make a huge difference getting out to SC distance from a station or FC and more importantly into the No Fire zone for both, and you may sometimes want that if you are being chased by an NPC. Once you have the money buy some and test them out, don't like them? Sell them back, but I doubt you will do that once you have tested the T9 with them!

>Well regrettably, I've already purchased the cow! lol.

Just a note to the OP, if you did decide to use a smaller ship it may still be possible. You lose 10% of the value of a ship if you sell it, but if you sell the individual modules one by one you get 100% of the value of those back. So you could keep the ship for later but sell all the modules back to restore some of your working capital (when you sell a core module Elite just shoves a class-E back on to the ship so it still runs).

If you have engineered any modules then don't sell those, bought modules will be vanilla so you'd have wasted the engineering materials & effort. But unengineered modules are fungible.

Did they fix the bug with the multi limpet controllers where prospectors don’t die so all the available “control slots” eventually get all locked up with prospectors and then you can’t fire any more limpets?
