Do we still have to find data?

looking for the data needed to upgrade my power distributor but the tech broker doesn't sell data like i expected. Can i trade for it or do i still have to find it myself?

There are 3 types of material traders - raw, manufactured and data - and there are tech brokers who sell blueprints.

If you want to change materials you found you will need to find and go to the correct material trader (in your case data trader found in some high-tech stations).

You will have to find materials yourself as you can only trade one type of material for an other. You can't buy materials with credits.
