Do you play with orbit lines on or off?

I like the orbit lines on.

Really good when exploring. You can tell lots from them.

I have them on and off depending on what I'm doing, as dagobah here said when I'm exploring I tend to have them on because it makes it easier to get and keep a grip on the relative positions of objects within the system, plus they reveal at a glance interesting orbits whereby objects will end up in close proximity. All of that is also available from the orbital information provided in the system map but the additional context provided by the orbit lines augments it.

This is also probably the right moment to say orrery please. Again.

Wow, it's becoming necro city around here. Is there something in the water?

(To go briefly on-topic, I too would still like a little more granularity in how the orbit lines are rendered but appreciate it's probably off the table by this point, unless it's part of the "core improvements" coming in 2.4 (or is it 3.x?). In particular I wouldn't mind the ability to suppress everything except exclusion limits. Despite what I said further up the thread (in 2015!) I still crash into the occasional star, or overcook orbital cruise approaches, if I don't have the orbit lines switched on).

I guess that PS4 owners are just discovering ED, and these forums, for the first time.
Can't really blame 'em.

On topic, although I realise the orbit lines are useful, I would prefer it if they were less obtrusive so I'd like to switch them off.
The only trouble is, when you switch them off, you also switch off the boundary lines around planets and stars, which are pretty important.

Ideally it'd be nice if the options were more detailed, so I could leave the boundary lines on and switch everything else off.

Off. I play in VR so the lines are not as crisp or needed for perspective/DOF. Also like space without lines.

I'm more impressed that anyone could ever use the abysmal search function on this forum and have it give any relevant data whatsoever. If necromancy is powering a successful search function that would be actually understandable.

Lines? I got so many lines on my screen, me heart skips a beat everytime the peelers drive past the house ^

On and off fairy regularly...they serve a purpose but clutter the screen after that purpose has been served ^

Always off, I don't use them and I like looking at space in a more natural way. Maybe I'm missing out on something, but I never found them useful other than clutter...

I leave them on. They don't hurt my system performance at all, and it would look too weird without them.

Oh, and then there's this...

On.

I tried to play with the lines off a couple of times, but without them I damage my ship too often while fuel scoping.
