Does anyone know why there is no fleet management in the game?

It seems so obvious.

You have a spare ship, you have npc crew, you instruct them to do things, like buy x here and sell it there, depending on npc level they fly certain amounts of trips per day (in open)

You can get profit - but in the words of dolf - if he dies he dies

This isn't a suggestion, because I can't imagine it's not been suggested or considered, so just wondering why, given the amount of management sim fans out there this isn't in the game as an optional

As much as I might like suggestions like this, and I do think it would make a lot of sense, that's just not the kind of game Elite is. Though with Fleet Carriers, maybe something like that isn't as unlikely as it once was.

Its not a management sim though.

They want you to earn every bit you get. Having someone else just get it for you doesn't sound like this game at all.

...because only NPCs are allowed to have:
  • Corporations
  • Real Estate
  • Faction membership
  • The ability to purchase components of a ship from the manufacturer (Materials)
You are merely an unimportant consumer...

My NPC crew can't get the fuel from the Carrier Cargo Hold into the Carrier Fuel Tank. So I can't see them nipping off somewhere to do a bit of trading for me.

Do you have a ship you might be willing to sell, I have been considering a trip to space lately. Think it could fly up to the moon for a quick daytrip, how is the mileage and gas on it?
