Does inf from exploration data is effected by scan type

Yes ... Honking will tell you if there are planets and such but to know what the planets consist of, I.e. Materials, you must do a detailed scan.

Maybe I didn't ask the question correctly and I hope someone can understand my foolishness.
I know of the methods of scanning and for what they do and how it affects the money I get.
When I turn in the data (sell it), the controlling faction will gain some influence.
Since scanning affects the money and detail of the stellar bodies, does it also affects the influence the controlling faction gains?
i.e. A faction knowing there is a terraformable Water World would have more knowledge versus knowing just that there is a blue world in a system, so that would give them more influence.

No, influence derived from explo is transaction based. Value is irrelevant, unfortunately. Sell it system by system for max effect. Cheesy as hell.

I would much prefer if it was based on discovery type. The more useful the discovery to the faction the higher influence.

I have an as untested suspicion that there may be a very low minimum transaction value - to be tested in a controlled environment. I am currently stocklpiling 400, 800, and >1000 but under 2000 cr systenms to test, but otherwise agree.

As a follow on, when using exploration data to improve ones rep with a faction, is that value based or transaction based?

Value based. About 10 million will get you from Neutral to Allied ... sometimes less. (I suspect, though haven't tested systematically, that the rep effect of data is higher if the faction is in Expansion)
