Horizons Doesn't the galaxy move cargo anymore?

G'day all,
Recently I brought the Cargo PYTHON out of storage to do a couple of cargo runs, and was bitterly disappointed.
I went to SOTHIS to pick up a long distant well paying cargo run, but all that was there was data transfers and assassination missions.
So, off I go back to my other areas that I play in, Crikey, it seems no one wants any cargo moved, they are all into scanning, or assassination, or wetwork, or powering down, very little cargo work on offer at all.

So I gather the Empire and indeed the galaxy is now self sufficient, so unless I book myself into the lunatic asylum that is a pre ordained by ED cargo/planet supply run, I will starve being independent.

No I don't believe I am over reacting, check it out yourself and tell me if you to believe there is an over abundance of scanning, powering down, and skimmer removal missions and a lack of cargo hauling.
Yours aye

isn't this tied to the state of a system? try some in boom conditions. they should primarily export goods, but not entirely sure if thats still the case haven't done that for ages.

I am seeing a lot less well paying cargo missions at the expense of these other type of missions, but maybe it is just a result of where I happen to be running around at the moment.

Lily makes a good point, but even the boom systems are not exporting so much stuff as I have seen before.

Perhaps there were too many cargo missions previously.

Haven't played for a while, eh? There are still cargo missions around, but they move according to state and other factors, and none of the old places work anymore (Sothis, Aditi, etc.). They are too far out, and cargo runs don't usually go that far anymore.

I'd suggest swapping in some economy passenger cabins, and switching to bulk-passenger hauling. It's almost exactly like long-haul cargo hauling used to be, only with passengers for cargo. Skip the other types of passenger missions (sightseeing, etc), and you'll have pretty much what you're looking for.

Have fun :)

I found that if you want cargo missions, pick up all the collector missions you can and deliver data missions to the cargo sellers. Not a fantastic job but 10 mill for a few hours play.
Also if you like a bit of combat on the side, you may get several pirates gunning for you. (If you are Dangerous or above)

I'm doing stupid mining/exploring run ATMO. Way out yonder. But ..... my home, LFT 37, will give me anything up to 10 data missions, and I choose the ones to a metal seller. I get several missions to bring in metals.
Hey! A double payday!

Cargo does seem dead atm there are probably a selection of players still doing so Until frontier improve this system along with all other improvement coming in beyond then we will have to wait and see. Hopefully cargo trading will get a boost and fingers crossed more immersive:)

hauling is alive and well assuming you can carry at least 180t. plenty of missions paying 4 mil up if your in the right systems, and most are 1 jump deliveries. (you just have to know where they are) hint: look for boom states and go from there
