Ships Dolphin Passenger Build Suggestions

So I just recently bought my Dolphin, and I was wondering about what kind of modules I should get. I have looked at some builds but they disagree on what is most important. I was thinking about installing a Planetary Vehicle Hangar to make the Dolphin a more versatile multipurpose ship. Any thoughts? If you have any suggestions for a beginner to passenger missions they would be greatly appreciated!

Here are a few of the builds that I looked at, from cheapest to most costly:

Cheap: https://eddp.co/u/LSjvJfig

Less Cheap: https://eddp.co/u/izmSSBi8

Pricey: https://eddp.co/u/oLU4Xr3n

Any feedback would be great!

Because i started to rank up my 2nd account, i also tried the Dolphin and i really like that little Liner.
Your most expansive build is close to the build i had.

Obviously you build the Dolphin for short range passenger transport (no Fuel Scoop).
There are some things i wouldn't waste the slots for:
- DDS is not needed because within the short distances this ship is used, the systems are supposed to be known
- Landing Computer, ok i never used one, but sometimes it may be handy
- Weapons? Sorry, they aren't making any sense. Most passengers are leaving the ship, when there is a scratch at the hull, so RUN and do not even think of fighting. The Dolphin is a very fast ship and can outrun most of the other ships. And with your choice of shielding it can easy take the initial hits. Boost-Boost here you go.
Besides, with the Dolphins agility you can fight AND win interceptions.
About the passenger cabins - it depends on the missions available, that changes, so it is no mistake to have some different cabins in store.
- at the Utility slots we are pretty close, i just would use a Chaff Launcher, but using a Point Defense is also a good option
- because i'm not fighting, there is no need for a A - rated Life Support, a D - rated will do the job.

As a cargo hauler:

My word of advice would be to operate as much as possible in or around one station. Find a well populated station and move any ships you enjoy flying there. As you upgrade your dolphin keep your old cabin modules. I find it very useful to have a variety of cabins to use (econ, business, first class) in case some very lucrative missions come along and you need a specific cabin. Also as you build reputation with the people in your home station you will get more/better missions. Using this technique I was able to save up for an orca and then a beluga in a reasonable amount of time.

As far as other internals, like others said I did away with hardpoints (there's no need because a lot of passengers will scare from danger) ran two point defense systems and bi-weave shields. I'm sorry I cant give you my exact specs but I am currently on a long exploration mission in my asp.

The same philosophy (favor speed) works well for Orca should you upscale in the future.

Some might like to include a heatsink launcher which could be used for defensive purposes or when sneaking into or out of stations when smuggling illegal cargo or illegal VIP passengers.

Personally I just use a bit of silent running + pace for that porpoise purpose.

I love the idea of smuggling in a wanted passenger :D

It is kind of exciting. More dangerous than cargo too. With cargo, getting caught earns you a big fine that can kill a good chunk of your profit.

While a privacy-loving VIP passenger may just cause the mission to fail if scaned, with criminal passengers you're a criminal and will be fired upon. :)

Till now i was more or less a Tramp, doing transport missions, a little bit of loop trading, mining, exploring, just the stuff which is not really dangerous - look at my Sig.
Now i feel ready for a little bit mor PvE! action and i'm starting with Bountyhunting, Assassinations, Black box recovering - short any stuff what comes with shooting.
And while i figured out, that the real precious stuff - data AND manufactured materials, come with illegal missions or transport of wanted criminals, i have to to learn to slip unscanned into a station.
Do you have some advise?
I would like to use Dolphin, Orca, Python or Asp.

I did couple of dozens of illegal passenger missions in Dolphin and AspX, both built for exploration (A/D-rated, not engineered), not for being particularly cool. Never had problems while entering/leaving stations and planetary bases, never had to use heat sinks, was never scanned. If your ship can do 2 minutes in silent running without cooking the Commander inside, you're good to go.

Sounds good to me ;)
What do you think about that build:

Something else - does some paint, for example 'Tactical Graphite' matter for NPC Cops?

The paint doesn't matter. The heat signature matters, as far as I know.

Overcharged power plant seems to be too powerful for your setup. And may getting hot fast. But do the test I suggested above. I will give better answers than theoretical discussions. ;)

Hi folks, can someone check the links on this useful thread please? Not sure if me but I am being 'redirected' to less than kosher sites. :-/

I would do something like this:
It is fast, durable and runs cool enough that it most ships do not scan it at all unless they have a clear visual on it (those criminal passangers that want some privacy you know). It is luxurious ship with good shields that your customers deserve to have.
