Don't trust the advanced docking computer.

The ADC has been a traitorous bastid for a very long time, it has tried to kill me various times.

Apparently, it's still up to it's nasty self. I haven't used one in years and don't intend to any time soon. The slot can be put for better uses.

Been using a DC on every ship I have ever flown for all of my 700+ hours played on PS4. Every. Single. One.

Not once have I ever had an issue of any kind. Not even a scratch on my hull.

That's good for you, in my several thousands of hours, the ADC has not been worth having. Particularly during past game times, when a snarky traffic controller would insult you by telling you to learn to land your own ship when on ADC. I haven't heard her for some time, maybe she got canned after she failed sensitivity training.

Never heard that before. But I wouldn't be able to hear it anyway. I usually play with Spotify blaring lol

Tested it out at the Omega mining Base, didn't see any issues on launch & docking with a T-10. It is the same old rule, always monitor and be ready to take over manually.

My only issue with the ADC is that they have inhibited lowering the landing gear manually whilst the automation is functioning. The standard DC behaved much smoother with the gear down (roll/pitch authority was reduced, boost was inhibited)

If Sarah is reading, please consider adding an option to disable boost (or at least allow us to lower the gear early to keep things smooth) Also a keybinding to engage Supercruise assist would be a nice QoL in the future.

@ Stealthie, flown thousands of FA-OFF docks in the Cutter, thousands of Automated docks too. Can honestly say have never had an incident, not yet tested the ADC on the Cutter. The Anaconda would scrape the top of the Bridge on the access corridor under automation, although that was a good few years ago. Haven't flown the conda in while

Edit - I wonder if you guys are running Class A G5 DDT on your Cargo Cutters, I stick to good old D rated, reinforced, runs cool and can take a beating.
Interesting, I only tested with mediums (Krait mk2 and Python with DD5). Did you consistently launch from the Rear? Because I launched from the Front and there is this strut which I hit every time, sometimes so bad the ADC didn't get around it...

Look the company can't even perform a release without bugs.. Why would you trust them to land your biggest, most expensive, ship?

There's no company that can perform a release without bugs.
Law 1: Every program can be optimized to be smaller.
Law 2: There's always one more bug.
Corollary: Every program can be reduced to a one-line bug.

I only use the docking computer for the last couple of kms, i boost through the letterbox, spot the landing pad, handbrake and let DC do its thing.

I like challenging DC by the way, it's fun to watch when DC tries to pull a 360 with a cutter to slow down inside the station.

LOL... I tried the new player content on one of my alts that I reseted, and the ADC managed to boost right into an asteroid at one of those asteroid looking starports. And that was in a Sidewinder. :D
This is a designed part of the "new player experience", since they have to learn that they will be killed due to bugs or no apparent reason in ED.

Advanced means fancy, it doesn't mean that it is safer. Touch wood that my ADS hasn't crashed yet.

On the other hand, the supercruise assist is an absolute essential for me.
