General / Off-Topic Drawing & Painting Software

Hi :)

I'm looking to buy a complete paint & draw software suite.
I'm familiar with past versions of Corel Draw/Photopaint 5, but sadly as I'm now using Win 7 O.S. the complete boxed version I have of Corel 5 obviously isn't compatible....(it's also been many years since I've used it btw.)

So...any recommendations of what suites I could buy with a budget of about £80?....would the 'home/student' (2014) version of Corel be a good choice?
I was thinking that some of the clip art and stuff on the Corel 5 disks and manuals might be re-usable at some point in relation to this 'home /student' edition, but it may well end up eventually going down the local refuse tip!
I hate disposing of perfectly good software, but time moves on I suppose.

Any input or suggestions welcome! :)

Jack :)

I like Paintshop Pro X6...

Thanks for the input, BreakpointUK & Rog.

I downloaded a Corel Draw/Photo paint X6 30 day trial version yesterday, so I'm getting myself familiar with the program etc. for the time being. ;)
Quite a few similarities with the older Corel 5, and on the plus side the fonts and clip art (off the Corel 5 disks) can be loaded into the program... in fact some of the broader functions even tie in with the manuals I've got (after a fashion) but the video tutorials are a great help as well.
Looking at some (quite a lot actually) of the user reviews the home/student version is very akin to the flagship version, minus obviously of course the commercial use and a few other items I'll probably not miss, so it looks like I might be buying this soon.

My wife (amazingly ) seemed to grasp the basic outlay of the program quite well, so she's decided it will be a great help with her craft/ card making hobbies, so I've got the 'ok' to go ahead and purchase (it's great isn't it when you can get your better half on your side ;) :D)

Thanks once again for your replies, first project will be an 'avatar' and signature for my forum post page I think....should be interesting......:D

edit...almost forgot to mention...I remember having Deluxe Paint for the Amiga, in fact I reckon I've still got it somewhere....
