Newcomer / Intro DSS and keybindings

I'm typically using my Hotas in ED (also convenient when playing in VR), but when using the DSS, I'd like to switch to using my mouse. But I seem to be too stupid for key bindings here...

(1) Launching probes
It took me quite some time to figure out, that I have to use the same button for launching probes as I've used to enter the DSS (via my firegroup). Is there really no other way to do this? Since my firegroups are on Hotas but I'm trying to use DSS (and FSS) with mouse, this is very unfortunate. When using the mouse in DSS, wouldn't it make a lot of sense to.. click the mouse button to launch probes?

(2) Looking at rear side of planet
I found the option to switch between toggle/hold "the button" when looking at the rear side of the planet. But... what button!? I don't see anything in the DSS section to configure "the button" (I couldn't care less whether it's hold or toggle though). What am I missing?

Sargon

(I hope my Hotas never breaks.. I don't know how long I've spent with key bindings by now.. sheehs! :))

1. Bind your mouse 1 button to the second column in primary fire button - clicking the probe firing button first time opens the DSS, further clicks launch probes - there is no separate "enter DSS" control.

2. The description in the controls setting just tells you that control toggles the view - it is not a toggle / hold option - so select a button on your hotas in one column and if you want you can change the default "END" keyboard assignment in the other column.

P.S. Just in case you don't know about it, there is a guide to renaming your binds so that you don't find them overwritten by the game (that only happens to "custom" binds you see) - it is well worth doing:
