Horizons Dude, where'd I park my ship.

ok - so I've landed on PAD10 and went tooling checking out sights. Now I want to leave, but I can't find my ship. #3 doesn't get me anything about my ship. There is a green pip on the radar but it a tad off center, inside a building in the center of the port. There are no garages on or near that structure. Speaking of garages, I've been in each of them at least twice now and I never get the "board ship" option.
I've done this like a dozen times so far so it not like I don't know what I'm looking for.

Any ideas ?

A strange long way round! Just request docking permission as you would when you initially arrive at the station. The docking port will be highlighted and your ship will show up in Green on the radar.

The number of the pad will be given but since the garages are unmarked that doesnt help much. You need to follow the compass.

The really odd thing is that the ship won't be on the same pad you originally landed on! I find that quite immersion-breaking. If you log out while in your SRV then come back that would be acceptable, but the idea that someone moves your ship while you are driving around is not logical.

The furrie had the correct answer. "get some distance from the settlement, and use recall ship function". AND in the process I learned what the "Leave settlement 2478km means. It mean that if I head out of dodge, I've got 2478km before I'm considered to have "left the building!"

I've done the Board ship many times as this wasn't my first planetside landing and excursion. However, it was my first time and NOT having the request docking option. I've always just gone back to the garage where I came out of and requested. This time, I never got that from any of the garages, and as I said, my ship appeared to be in the middle of a building in the middle of the port. Usually it sticks around out by the pad I landed at.

2478km with srv? Yeah good luck with that, tell us how that went. :D
Maybe you can get back to your ship in time for season 3.
