E:D using with two persons

I could not find the info, but will E:D have the possibility to play with two different persons?

Background: I now have bought the PB and I'm learning to fly, but my son is also very interested. I know that we will get a reset when the game is released, but still I don't want him to loose what I have earned already...

Will it be possible to have a second 'slot' with another pilot/ship/commander name now, or when the game is released? All on the same PC, of course...

I believe both that, and multiple ships as well, but not as of yet. Don't know how you'll be able to switch ships, if it will be moved to you for a fee, or if you park it at a station and have to go there.

Usually game accounts are for use by one person and not meant to be shared. This should be covered in the EULA when the game is released.

The currently accepted wisdom (without definitive advice from the devs) is 3 character slots / account.

This (although AFAIK the number is not "set in stone"). Therefore two different people can share the same account, each with its own commander.

Ofc they cannot play simultaneously (for that you'll need two accounts).

At the moment, three names of commander per account will be possible. But if you want that your son to enjoy of your profits, he will play with your name of commander (the one that has the profits). You can also create a group with your son and play together and share the profits. But your son will have his license of the game

For MMOs with a subscription fee, maybe. But I find it hard to believe that the average AAA game, be it on a console or on PC, has an EULA prohibiting your housemates from picking up a second controller, borrowing your laptop etc...

It's a moot point anyway since the violation would be technically undetectable and unenforcible and make any developer/publisher who tried to enforce it look like total jerks.

Yep. They might still have to include a one-person clause to avoid problems when a player gets hellbinned because of the actions a friend playing on the same account (given that the logical way of implementing a hell group is to have it apply to all commanders on the same account).

If the OP trusts his son not to fall foul of these rules, then let him share. I personally wouldn't take the risk.
