It is mystifying that people are literally getting free stuff and complaining about it.

Like, folks could have kept playing the game and not just gotten free cosmetics. And paired with this is the change that individual paint jobs can be purchased, which is excellent.

Earning a ship kit in 42 weeks is faster than never earning it at all.

I’m not complaining, just throwing rocks at the beehive.

Well, that and illustrating the need for some good, quality stuff to want.

Imho the change is almost negligible. It's just a commercial strategy. You buy a fixed number of "bonus points" such that you always have some spare in your account and these tease you to spend more to get the next one. Now, instead, you pay for what you get nothing more nothing less.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve nothing against Arx or the rate at which they accumulate - free stuff is free stuff. Take it if you want it, leave it if you don’t,

Just don’t make “Arx Grind” threads, in all the names of all that is holy, and most of the names of that which is not.

It's that damn auto correct and I figured I could just leave it as it is. Discussing something called Arx is already bad enough, no reason to not make these sentences more enjoyable.

It's difficult at the moment to judge.
Worst case scenario is that the 400 arx limited per week are also difficult to achieve (you need to play something like 4-5 hours per day, everyday). Then you still need to play the game for 3 month to get a paintjob. It makes 4 paint jobs/year for free for a total value of 12-14 euros.
In my case, that I play the game 1h/day I only achieve a paint job per year so in this case I prefer to buy it directly if I like it... so in my case no change so far.

I still prefer the special day that they removed.
