Yeah and if you CBA.... buy it....I still wonder why anybody would complain about free stuff... A free paintjob every few months is more than no free paintjob ever.
It really depends on how much an individual paintjob will cost. They said they wanted to get rid of paintpacks, if you get a paintjob for 2000 Arx it's fine in my opinion. If earning 400 Arx per week required you to be online 24/7 it's not so fine.Very much agreed. It should be tripled IMO.
4000 Arx per week? That's like they are refunding you the game if you play it for one month.Maybe they forgot a 0 digit to the 400 and it should be 4000? Or perhaps they mean 400 a day instead of 400 per week? I mean, using common sense the official numbers must be wrong.
But oh wait! Dang it! We are at Frontier! Common sense is unavailable here, it got lost in the instance system chaos!
This! It's more than zero, which is what everyone has been earning thus far.
It just shows that all the 'you are a mindless fanboy and white knight' accusations are completely idiotic.Has StuartGT's account been hacked?
I still wish they'd called it BUX... Braben's Universal eXchange.
Or the really really brave boys in open... cos they're brave!Don't encourage the SOLO trolls.

I doubt it would decay...How much does the Arx on our accounts decay each week?
The Viper Squadron paintpack costs £3. That's £0.5 per paintjob. So two weeks of playing the game (you hopefully enjoy it).I doubt it would decay...
That said and as per usual, zero information was provided in the stream on how ARX is earned, this is a standard FDEV policy. Do not provide detail on sensitive subjects...
All we know is that when you play ED you can 'earn' up to 400 ARX per week - We have had to work out that equates to a cap £0.23 per week or 3.4p per day.
Yes it's 'free' fair enough, but to put that into perspective...
Bobbleheads start at £3.00 which equates to 5,016.7 ARX (Note this is more than the minimum purchase of 5,000 ARX)
If you max out gameplay you can earn 400 ARX per week
So to earn the Thargoid Bobble head with ARX it will take you 13 Weeks or just over 3 months.
The same bobblehead was earned in-game for 2 hours of your time - not 3 months.
The most expensive store item (Cosmetic) is a £11 paint pack, which will take 46 weeks to earn if you max out ARX every week.
I'll make a ARX calculator and share it so you can quickly work out how long you need to play to get an item.
Wouldn't the point of the mechanism be to get people to play? Having no cap would encourage people to play more hypothetically.I guess the 400/week cap is a simple way to avoid players exploiting this new mechanism. As a regular player who doesn't habitually buy cosmetics I see only positives in this, I can now get a few little bits & bobs for free where previously I simply went without, and anyone still feeling like they want to subsidise Frontier can just buy points regularly.
Sure - then people would complain they were being encouraged to play for an unhealthy amount of time. A cap is sensible.Wouldn't the point of the mechanism be to get people to play? Having no cap would encourage people to play more hypothetically.
That is peoples personal problem. We are not China. If that is their reasoning there is a massive issue.Sure - then people would complain they were being encouraged to play for an unhealthy amount of time. A cap is sensible.
It doesn't. Can't really make something you bought with real money decay. And they said that Arx earned by gameplay is exactly like bought Arx and merged in one pot. So no decay whatsoever. You have it, you keep it.How much does the Arx on our accounts decay each week?
You may be some old-school pensioner - but nowadays we care about people's wellbeing. You should get with the program. That is peoples personal problem. We are not China.
