Earn up to 24p Per Week with ARX

I'm only asking for a source because I think this is a valid point for which to ask about one.

Link to source please?
Really?

Literally one page back:
Greetings Commanders,

We have just posted some additional information on ARX here, hopefully this helps to to clarify things!

Hello everyone,

--snip--
  • Decals - 50 to 150 ARX
  • Individual Fighter and SRV Paint Jobs - 460 to 3280 ARX
  • Individual Ship Paint Jobs - 620 to 5,520 ARX
  • Individual Bobbleheads – 2,450 to 6,450 ARX
  • COVAS – 8,850 ARX
  • Ship Kits (sold in Bundles) – 11,750 to 13,520 ARX
--snip--

400 definitely is not enough. 1000 would be a more acceptable position since I'm using Ship Kits as a more stable measure of what the ARX actually get you. That would mean over the course of 11-12 weeks you could build up enough for a ship kit. That would still be lengthy, but at least reasonably fair.

Acceptable?
It's a freebie.
Think of it as little discount off stuff.
As to the not lining up purchase packs and costs, if you don't like it don't do it, if when it arrives I think it's a diddle i'll just not do it. But you never know those few free ARXs might fill the gap of buying a pack that is a bit less then the cost.

400 to work towards 11000 puts it at about closing on 30 weeks or 7 and a bit months, which is patently ridiculous.

Let me know if you have something worthwhile to respond with :)

EDIT: Yep, none of the ARX bundles you can buy will line up whatsoever with the things you might want to buy. Grats Frontier, you've made PC cosmetic purchasing categorically worse.
Hey, real quick, can you tell me how fast you could earn a ship paint job in-game without ARX?

Even using the Ship Kits as a metric, because you wanted to pick the biggest number possible to make it seem as bad as possible but your argument is still really just... bad. You're literally complaining that you don't get enough free stuff fast enough.

And not to just go full overkill, but why not you clearly don't know much about this: You're saying that the ability to buy an individual cosmetic instead of a whole bundle is "categorically worse"?

I'm still happy with the opportunity to get 'something for nothing' Arx-wise, I'll play as normal and it really doesn't matter just how long it takes me to get my cosmetics on my alt account (shame still that alt accounts are not counted as attached to the main, but that's life) as I spent real money for the bits I really wanted already, anything from now on is a bonus :)

I've nothing against being able to earn cosmetics in-game. But if I choose to buy any game extras, I want to be able to do it directly with real money, not some dodgy virtual currency that obfuscates the real cost of items and makes me spend more than necessary. This move to ARX only doesn't make me feel optimistic about the future of the game 😒

Speculation on whether the weekly cap is 'wrong' will be more productive with user data. Personally I'm looking forward to finding out how quickly I can reach the cap, assuming it is an achieveable goal :)
Yeah I agree - I think the cap is more to avoid people grinding ARX for hours ('cos they will if they can).

I can imagine all the complaints come October of 'fdev forcing me to relog for 2 hours to get my ARX each week' from the ARX grinders (or some such other tedious but fast way to get the ARX).

Also on top of this it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that if FD are in a position to they may have double ARX weeks or CG bonuses which don't come out of your 400 cap.
Whilst it is still not how I ideally would like it (get specific stuff for specific tasks like the thargoid bobblehead) it is a big improvement over What we have now.

It is a shame you can't choose to buy stuff with cash if you choose (maybe with a small premium over arx cost) purely because some people don't like fake currencies. Personally so long as they don't expire I am very "meh" about it either way. (I did lose a bunch of MS points and uplay points which expired however after they changed the T's and C's and that annoyed me)

How will you "spend more than necessary"?

-You gain ARX by playing, which is effective cosmetic value at no cost
-Based on conversion, you now get bonus ARX based on pack sizes so you literally get more cosmetic value per dollar
-Cosmetics are now broken up so you don't need to buy a whole paint pack for a single color

In-game ARX earrings are designed to taunt you into spending money, and nothing more.
For me it's pretty simple, if I want something I buy it, if I don't want something I don't buy it. I don't care if the currency is called Arx, EUR or cake.
Sure, it might be that there will be a few cents leftover from a previous package, but since Paintjob prices are entirely made up anyway I don't know why I should care. It's not like they reflect a real value.

Welcome to AA (ARX Anonymous), you’ve made the right choice. This is a 12 step program, we take one step at a time and with the support of a world wide community, we rid you of your obsession with, and compulsion to buy, ARX. Do you have any questions?

Yes, what is the bonus amount if I get to step 9?

It'll be nice to get confirmation of ARX per hour and whether this just time in game or you have to be flying around. I also hope that ARX don't expire if not used in a set time, but can be hoarded over time.

Scoob.

Gotta say, the one thing I am surprised at is that FDev haven't announced Arx rewards for stuff like station-repairs, discovering 'goid/guardian sites or for CGs, GIs, PP and even CQC.

Awarding Arx as a reward for regular stuff is fine but it's a bit dull.
Seems like it would have been a good opportunity to encourage people to get involved with stuff that FDev wants players to get involved with.

Course, that might still happen but you'd think it'd have been the sort of feature FDev would have led with.
