With a DK2?![]()
Wow. So jelly. The box isn't as nice as the DK1's, it looks.
indeed, I cant lie.... I too am disappointed about that, but if that is part of the cost for keeping the prices super low, without compromising the hardware, then it is a price I am happy to pay.
hopefully when CV1 launches they will do the same, but then maybe offer a deluxe package for those who want a little more quality in the little things.
Yeah. Weird that the Dk2 is more expensive than the DK1, and is coming in a less robust box, and is ordered in greater quantities.....
Anyway, whatever. I'm sure it's fine. Hopefully box is robust in the CV1. I feel I'll be dragging this thing around to my friends house's to show it off.
Naaah not that weird, higher res screen, infact in general much higher tech screen
better quality innards accross the board
and an extra camera.
all for just an extra $50. I may be wrong and just giving them too much credit, but I dont see that they can be making money on it to be honest.
Like i said, worst case scenario, I will bet my bottom dollar you will be able to buy a proper transprort case for the CV1 IF it does not come with one as standard.
Just wondering if anyone uses or is planning on using headphones.
Will people be attaching them using the built in USB port on the head set?
Go wireless and you won't need to.
I use wireless headphones, keyboard, and mouse. Leaves more room for the essentials - like beer and cheesy wotsits.
Pity Oculus Rift and my X52 can't be wireless too.![]()
I'm getting one of these.![]()
I don't think anyone's posted this yet (couldn't see it myself anyhoo).

Take it with a big pinch of salt as it's not entirely representative of what you see (i.e. viewing distance:monitor size), but you can kind of get the idea of the difference between DK1 & DK2, particularly the benefit of low persistence and text readability.
The 4k one is of course what everyone's going to be hoping for. We may have to wait for 2016's GPUs though
Incidentally, lots of talk about what graphics card to upgrade to, don't forget the 8xx Maxwell series are due out in Oct/Nov (nVidia's running a bit late this year).
KindaI'm not convinced by that demo, especially the latency / smearing seems to be excessive.
I posted this video last week of what Elite looks like though a DK1:

I'm hoping someone will post a video like this using the DK2 soon...![]()

Aren't people messing around with 4K stuff now and finding the most powerful graphics cards can only do 30+/- frames?
If DK2 needs top of the line cards just to ensure everything can run in 3D VR at 70+ frames a second .....I think it'll be more like 2020 by the time 4K OR is a real option.
