I just set up my oculus rift and I had a few questions because I have no reference.
1. is everything suppose to look pixelated (slightly above what you'd expect from a 16 bit game).
2. text seems extremely hard to read.
3. should a 770 ti be getting laggy while entering a station?
4. anyone notice that after closing the game, their entire computer is slow?
all in all I love how the rift works in the game, I just wish it maybe didn't make me feel so nauseous. (who would have guessed with a beta game + beta hardware system)
1. It depends how close it is to you. When you look at your own body, and controls it should look nice and high res (albeit with SDE as with anything on rift). The interior of your ship should be nice and 3 dimensional and detailed. But it gets less detailed from there. Close up targets when dogfighting look decent, but a target a couple of kilometres out will take you back to Amiga days.
2. Shouldn't be extremely hard, certainly could be easier. I find it depends somewhat on your ship - Eagle side panels were harder to read than Sidewinders for example - not least because they have a habit of vanishing when you lean closer. Generally leaning closer should make it easy to read.
3. I find it's certainly a slowdown when entering a station, but it's just a very slight judder. Noticeable when turning my head but not when just the ship is moving. Certainly not enough to make me nauseous - the only part that's uncomfortable in that way is when it quickly moves you forward out of the hanger when you're getting ready to launch. I run a 770GTX, other specs a bit less than yours and run on high settings.
4. No, have not noticed that at all.
