So I just ordered a rift but my monitor is 60hz only. I've read that this causes a lot of the juddering issues due to conflicts with the rifts 75hz. Are there workarounds for people with 60hz? I can't afford to buy a new monitor as well as the rift so if it causes a problem I may just cancel the rift order.
Don't panic!
Yes there can be problems with the Rift working in (especialy multi-) monitor setups and 60Hz. But there are many factors that cause this (e.g. some say Windows 7 is more problematic than Windows 8.1) and most can be fixed or worked around, if all else fails just use the Rift as your only monitor while gaming (easy to do as Windows will remember to reactivate your other monitors when you shut the Rift off). Just don't expect a 100% plug and play experience.
The biggest hurdle in reality is getting a framerate of > 75FPS in ED. If your rig cannot manage that, you might as well go ahead and cancel. Save the money for CV1 and a GPU upgrade next year. You will miss out on witnessing the early days, but end up with a much better experience as the hardware will be better and most of the bugs will have been solved.
