Okay, I redid the maths correctly this time. Better late than never. If the radius of the bubble is 250LY, then 260,000 is indeed about right. If 250LY is the diameter (which seems more likely to me) then 32,725 is closer to the correct figure.

EDIT: Oh, and my workings, because there's still a chance I'm wrong... I did volume of a sphere, times 0.004, which is the current best guess at the number of stars per cubic light-year. Figure taken from here.
