ED used to immersive, now it's a shop front.

I wonder if there'll be a (suitably expensive of course) item in the Arx Store to tone down the in game Arxvertising?
Not likely. With today's, erm... Surprises, I'm very convinced that the game will soon be F2P, and well, that being the case...

Sorry guys but the No-P2W promise will go outta' the window that being the case. And no, FD is breaking no laws or "contracts" by doing that. Read the EULA. They can do whatever they want.

I don't think that will happen. I think they just got far too much excited with their new shop.

It's dog shat. I've been here since 2014. I'm now ending our relationship FD. People who mattered left for a reason - and this is just the beginning..............sod ya.
You realise that they've been selling cosmetics for years now in ED, yeah? I still don't see the issue of moving the point of sale from their website to the game itself. That is essentially all that's happened here. On top of not having to open your browser to see what skins are available for your ship; you can now earn cosmetics over time (even if that time is bannanas). Then comes the improved preview option and ability to swap cosmetics in deep space.

All in all, it's a major improvement + added consumer friendly bonuses. You all act as if Frontier will soon be selling engineering mats and premium ammo because the UI changed. If they were going to go that route with the store, they could've waaaay earlier with the webpage store.

Yes, but we don't need the big Store button on the station services screen to remind us of this commercial mundanity.

"People who don't like Elite: Dangerous found something new they don't like about it." The Thread.

Nah. I'm ok with Arx, I'm ok with the 400/week cap for playing the game. In fact, I think it's great. There were a myriad of different ways to go about it, almost all of them worse then this one, so bravo.
But a store button in the station menu? Yeah, that's just really weird and unnecessary.

Meanwhile in an alternate universe ...

"The new store button looks just like the rest of the ui.. it blends in too much and i keep clicking it instead of outfitting. Could we make it stand out more?"

Kinda curious how some of the posters here feel about modern advertising... i personally find it pretty pervasive but not rage inducing. If this change induces the rage, things must be rough.

I realy had no problem with the arx thing and the new store but putting it this blatantly in the station menu is rediculous, I hated the holo-me button already but this?

Ugh Fdev you're realy trying to get rid of the long term players aren't you?
Sheesh I wonder when there will be an announcement that Frontier was bought by EA this summer.

Well rage is a strong word but I just can't stop thinking that slowly but surely this game going to shambles and that's frustrating.
In a while ED will have turned into a whole different ballgame as when it was released, and not in a good way.
Just to be explicit... there's a lot of reasonable opinions here too :) but there's also rage... enough to cook some popcorn for at least!
