If you have carried out significant customisation of the speech when events occur then I suggest you do the following:
- Remove the ((EDDI startup)) command from your VoiceAttack profile - this will stop the EDDI 1.x scripts from running automatically
- Remove your c:\program files (x86)\voiceattack\apps\eddi directory
- Download and install EDDI 2
- Start up VoiceAttack (note that you'll need a beta version of VoiceAttack for the new plugin structure - at least 1.5.12.22)
- Import the 'EDDI.vap' profile. Take a look at the commands that are being imported and ensure that you haven't customised anything that is going to be overwritten
At this point you will need to move all of your custom scripts from their current location to EDDI's new speech responder. To do this:
- Shut down VoiceAttack
- Start up the EDDI UI
- Go to the 'speech responder' tab
- Hit the 'Copy personality' button at the bottom of the tab
- Give the personality a new name
- For each script hit 'edit' and change it as you see fit, using the VoiceAttack script as your reference
When you are done you can shut down the EDDI UI and start up VoiceAttack, and it should respond with your edited scripts.
With the new script format it should be a lot quicker to edit than was the case with VoiceAttack. That said, if you have a lot of work already in VoiceAttack or you just want to keep your scripts in VoiceAttack then take a look at the last video in the original post on this thread: it shows you how you can trigger VoiceAttack commands from EDDI events. In your case you could simply rename your VoiceAttack commands to the name of the events that you want them to be triggered by. For example, if you had customised the 'Event handler on change of system' script then you could just rename this to '((EDDI jumping))' and it should run whenever you change system.
I recommend that you have a look at the information in the EDDI UI under the 'VoiceAttack responder' tab, as it explains a bit more about the integration and gives you links to the full documentation for EDDI and VoiceAttack.
