Heya! I noticed over the weekend that EDDiscovery has generated over 8.5GB of travel log files in AppData during my adventures over the past few years. If I’ve synced my data, can I safely remove these logs?

For the time being, I've moved these logs to a temp directory because I had too little space on C: to install Windows Creator's update and the Oculus software. Now I could move the logs back if necessary but I'd prefer not to, ofc.

Do you mean what's in \AppData\Local\EDDiscovery\Log?

If so then aye, get rid of that. That's just our application log for debugging purposes, I thought we'd implemented something to auto-delete them after a month to stop the folder getting excessively big but if you've got 8GB (I just deleted 4.5GB from mine...) that may have gotten lost.

Hm nope, I checked and the \Log directory only contains less than one megabyte of data. The big data is in a bunch of .sqlite and .json files:

EDDiscovery*.sqlite (including EDDiscovery.sqlite itself) are backups from old upgrades, delete at will. The rest is part of the app. The local copy of EDSM's known stars (EDDSystems.sqlite) is getting big now.

Just released a new EDDiscovery 8.1.5

If you use EDDN to send out commodity prices and scan data then you need to upgrade to 8.1.5 before 8th august. EDDN changed server adress so after that date(might work some days mor) EDD 8.1.3 and earlier cant send data to EDDN network.

First of all - thank you for EDDiscovery is such a amazing tool. o7

Sorry - question or request, not sure:
- When jumping into a system is there a way to get "Number of celestial objects" visible in History/Journal?

Or rather:
- I'd like to quickly observe whether the data in EDSM is matching and updated to the system I jump into, or whether I need to do a full scan for EDSM.
The quickest way to identify missing data.

From what I understand from the EDSM API, an additional request needs to be done for the data to be available, the "api-system-v1/bodies" request.
This happens if I scan one object in the system from what I understand.

Is it the count or (missing data label) displayed anywhere in the UI?

Soundblaster Volume

Love the soundblaster idea, but I'm having trouble with the volume. It's super quiet. I even amplified the sound files in Audacity as much as possible and still can barely hear them. All other sounds from EDDiscovery are loud. Any ideas?

We have Released EDDiscovery 8.2.0 with many new good things.

UI major rework, tooltips, drop down menus etc optimised.

The Grid major tab added, allows any of the panels to be placed at any position on it

Grid Pop outs supported, allows you multiple pop outs of any set of arbitrary panels

Toolbar at the top added, which can roll up to minimise screen space.

System info panel added, fully configurable, will work in transparent mode. Much more information.

History page now consists of a fixed travel grid, and four configurable panes (one bottom, three left).

Travel grid and journal grid have their own 'Cursor to top' options instead of one global option.

Uploads to EDSM credits, current ship, progress, rank

Elite galaxy online integration (EGO)

And many many small changes

Now that the Brits have gone to bed, you can now submit scans to EGO.

They need a really big server, since EDD developed EGO functionality.

A couple of suggestions/ questions on the Journal screen (EDIT : found the save windows settings

so the first bit is irrelevant ) - why are the the default column widths on the Time, Event and Description so large compared to the Information panel? At least the Time and Event could be a fixed (smaller or big enough to hold the date/time/ event icon ) width?
Some info in the Information panel is harder to read as it hasn't been formatted nicely (i.e. Materials and scan data have but sold exploration data hasn't)

Latest edd has a safe mode. Hold down shift as you run it and a dialog opens allowing you to reset the theme, the positions, and move the databases to another drive for all you tiny ssd people!

Is there an issue with sending commodity info to EDDN, etc?? I've noticed that none of the stations that I frequent regularly have any updated pricing info less than 12 days old when checking Thruud's site.

Currently using version 8.2.3.0 of EDD. I typically just install in place right over the older version. Should I have uninstalled before one of the more recent updates when you switched over to the new EDDN framework?

EDDN changed his address 12 days ago, so it may be that Thruud's site did not make the change.

To follow on from this (possibly), the commodity prices sometimes update when I visit and sometimes they don't and I get something like this error message in the log:

CAPI not docked. Server API lagging!
CAPI profileStationRequired is Heisenberg City, profile station is Fourier Base

Is this related? Could it be something I can fix on my end?
