With todays update

and I imagine all the other Cobra MkV paintjobs?
 
Even the Cobra Mk V itself? (I think that happened with the Mandalay, before EDDiscovery was updated.)
There were no error messages for the ship itself that I spotted.

Though I did find these:

yeah

removed lines that clash with the inbuilt voice or are too long such that they block other lines being said in a timely manner. Plus removed the Picardisms :)

currently trying to remove the docking failed messages but it wont let me

Well. There you go, you removed the line that's needed to not cause that error. You could also say that you didn't remove the line that causes that error without the other line...
Anyways randomly removing lines is a bad idea as you can see.
You could join our Discord and ask for assistance, this surely is a thing not to be handled on the forums.

I’ve just converted from console to PC. Turned out that my wife’s laptop, which I thought aspired to be a potato machine, can run Elite without a problem?

I’ve been trying to get EDdiscovery to work. No matter what I try, I can’t get it to read the journal file.

When I converted, I didn’t create a new Frontier account as it didn’t nave a previous PC account. Could this be the problem?

Did you even play once to create a journal file to start with?
Yes, I’ve been playing Odyssey for the past few days.

I can have EDD reread the journal file. I can see it’s reading the correct location. No matter what I do, I can’t get any data displayed.
 
Did it create the commander you're playing with on settings panel?
I entered the commander name using the ComanderForm.
