That's because the Empire commands respect and loyalty from it's systems. No room for "Independence" ! :)

When are we going to get that colour plot in the released version? I like it! :)

BTW, not sure if you get notices, but I've put up a few suggestions on GitHub. Have you seen them?

Also, I finally found where it is that the EDD program is installed. It's not in the usual "Program Files" folder, instead it in the User/AppData/Local folder. Why is that? Is that so muliple logins on the one machine could each have their own install and database? I noticed that there seems to be a triplicate of the same data files sprayed in there. I assume that's because I've downloaded the original and two updates, right? So why aren't the old versions deleted? Not a huge deal but if you keep updating as regularly as you do, then we'll all end up with 50 installs. Is it safe to manually delete the old installs? Could you make the old ones automatically deleted when you finish installing the update?

OK, I've officially given up plotting anything beyond 65k Ly. It just does not register, which is a shame. I'll try again at a later time, but I've spent way too long entering system names instead of exploring. So, I may as well get back to my plotting a point every 1k Ly system once I get back to about 64K Ly form Sol, and hopefully, on my next trip out here, having more points to work from will help.

Been kind of fun trying to get it to work...

Thanks for the "Next Jump" button. It's helped my absent-minded logging no end. :)

I have seen them but has been to busy in RL to do something yet. Thanks for your ideas and suggestions

Windows click once installer is both good and bad. Will probably release it with a more standard installer to as an option.

As an observation....

I find I have a lot more success with Trilateration of far out systems using the website rather than in-app. I put this down to the website constantly suggesting systems to use for trilateration, where as the app itself only has the the same ones.

As a potential future update, is it a difficult thing to have similar "suggested" systems appear on the fly that would help with getting the co-ordinates? I think the suggested systems in the app seem to give a better spread, but once beyond those, it's very hard to know which systems to pick.

I have the same situation. Still using the website trilateration, because the application doesnt return correct suggestions systems. Waiting for releasing in the future. Thanks.:)

So I tried logging my first system since getting back from the 65K Ly marker (at 64900lY from Sol), and it registered nicely with 22 systems entered. I may try some backtracking, and try registering every system on my way back to 65k lY and beyond, and see where it gets stuck. It may be there is some bug that prevents trilateration beyond a certain distance from Sol...

I have no idea how it behave so far out. But can do some test then i get some time.

Suggested systems are not implemented yet. The list is static now. A solution to make it dynamic is slowly in progress.

AppConfigLocal.xml seems to not work anymore for me. I have to edit AppConfig.xml sine last ED patch. Anyone have the same issue?

Released 2.3.4

* Search in travel history. Search works on all fields. So you can search for a system name or something in your notes.

* Downloaded json files from EDDB and EDSC is now stored in appdata instead of current directory. This is for the the future (next version) alternative installer that will a more regular installer instead of the current auto updating clickonce installer. Both installers will be available.

* EDDiscovery should not xrach if netlogmain has invalid path

Errrrm.... what happened to the star map? On one PC its all colourful mostly green and Screenshot 2015-07-10 12.38.33.png but I can't see the trail that I have been forging hubward about 1kLy above civilization, gone is the MADDAVE bit, in fact I hardly recognise the map at all.
On my other PC no stars appear at all! :-(

EDDiscovery has stropped working for me today.
I upgraded it, but it is not logging the jumps anymore.
I have modified AppConfig.xml file as usual:
<Network
Port="0"
upnpenabled="1"
LogFile="netLog"
DatestampLog="1"
VerboseLogging="1"
>

what else should I check?

The plot of the map is my test with plot by government.... Forgot to change it back to normal.

Will release a version later today with normal map function again....

Try to remove AppConfigLocal.xml too if it exists. The new .7 version seems to have some bugs with AppConfigLoxal.xml.

There's a slight issue with the new search function.

The search box doesn't move when the window is resized, obscuring the refresh button.

Other than that, great update.

Did we lose some system data?

Some of the suggested systems have changed. Other systems seem to have disappeared entirely. I can no longer use them to trilaterate.

EDIT: They're back now. Was it a bad connection to one of the databases?

With the 3D star map... I really love seeing my progress on a set path... And I hate to sound like a whiner... But is there any way you can make the rotation of the map work the same way it does in Elite?

As in... You actually have it almost perfect... Except the Rotation on the vertical mouse movement.

At present, you seem to have a rotating X axis that goes through Sol and goes out to that "globule of locked out space" that is rather well defined. No matter how I rotate the map around Y axis, the X axis spins as well and so makes it impossible to, for example, make the "globule" at the bottom of the screen.

To fix this, and make it work like Elite does, the X axis should not spin - it should remain across the screen, perpendicular to the viewer, regardless of how you spin the map around on the Y axis.

It's a bit difficult to explain, other than saying just try the exact same movement in both Elite and in EDD and you will see it isn't the same.

Also, although really not a big deal at all... But I don't think the "Center on System" option actually works.
