I've lost all triangulation data in the current version (says everything is upto date)... so Starmap is totally blank.

Edit: deleted all the appdata and forced it to download system/distances again.. working okay now

With the 3D star map... I really love seeing my progress on a set path... And I hate to sound like a whiner... But is there any way you can make the rotation of the map work the same way it does in Elite?

As in... You actually have it almost perfect... Except the Rotation on the vertical mouse movement.

At present, you seem to have a rotating X axis that goes through Sol and goes out to that "globule of locked out space" that is rather well defined. No matter how I rotate the map around Y axis, the X axis spins as well and so makes it impossible to, for example, make the "globule" at the bottom of the screen.

To fix this, and make it work like Elite does, the X axis should not spin - it should remain across the screen, perpendicular to the viewer, regardless of how you spin the map around on the Y axis.

It's a bit difficult to explain, other than saying just try the exact same movement in both Elite and in EDD and you will see it isn't the same.

Also, although really not a big deal at all... But I don't think the "Center on System" option actually works.

The rotation is like the old CAD/CAM software. I normally zoom out to identify the route to the core, orient, then zoom back in. Annoying.

Can you add a search window for known systems at edsc? So we know which systems are nearby?
As long as the search function in Elite Dangerous can't find systems like "CRUCIS SECTOR GC-U B3-2" it's troublesome to find those systems. Currently i have to use ed-systems to get the systeminfo and look at the nearest systems with a simple name. Then i search for the simple one and look for the desired sequential system name.
What do you think?

There's already a window listing the nearby systems.

ED galaxy map search works for procedural systems. You just need to click the arrow of the search box twice, with a bit of a pause between the clicks. Why, I have no idea. It's buggy, but it works. Usually anyways.

Tried it more than once. At least on my system with my language set to german it's never working. Never since the last updates.

No it doesn't. Only if the names are short enough, it works mostly.

I know, but that's only for currently selected visited systems and not for unvisited ones.
It's not for visited systems, but for systems where CMDRs have submitted enough distances to calculate their location. Systems with unknown coordinates can't be displayed, because the coordiantes are unknown to the databases.

Being able to search EDSC through EDDiscovery would also be good for seeing if a system is known yet, and what it's nearest neighbours are.

It would also be great to get the CR value of "known" systems and give the option to enter more distances if CR<5 and commander name is not the same as added by / updated by.

Where can I get a version of this software I can run, rather than the source files.

I play on a PC and a Mac, so it would be great to have both versions.

I maybe missing something obvious here.

i am trying to add edd to a bat file that starts ed and fraps. right now it looks like this:

@echo off
start "fraps" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Fraps\fraps.exe"
start "ed" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\EDLaunch.exe"
start "eddiscovery" "???"

but where is the exe for edd? how do i do this?

The click once installer that i used before installs it on some strange place.
You can use my other installer version instead that installs it in program files (x86) http://eddiscovery.astronet.se/release/EDDiscovery_2.3.5.exe

The idea for a search function on all known system is nice. Will add it soon.

it worked, thanks a lot.

suggestion for the next version:

another counting colum where you can start / pause / resume / reset the counter manually. so you can keep track how many systems you visited since you left system x or human space or how many neutron stars one already farmed etc.

Seems to be down. Finwen, pls add EDSM submission, pretty pretty pleeeease...
Edit: Maybe (no one knows) EDSC will come back. In between you may use RedWizzards entry.html and disable EDSC/TGC submission in the settings on top right corner.
