Hi,

I'm getting an Unhandled Exception

There are Multiple root elements,Line 3, Position 5.

Happens on launch.

Any Ideas?

Yeah probably something is wrong with your game files - at least, they aren't standard. You could try deleting them and letting the game remake them.

It's everything in the folder c:\users\USERNAME\appdata\local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\options\graphics

Back them up, delete them, start the game, create some graphics settings from the game and apply and it will rebuild them. Then try launching the tool

EDIT: FYI looking in to the 0.65 SS issue, will let you know when I've fixed it

Works very well. One thing I noticed (running 1.0.2 so may have already been caught) - the texture quality drop down goes to ultra whilst it only goes to high in game.

I may have missed it but I couldn't find anything on my problem. When I first start ED Profiler or if I try to change profiles I get this error

If I click continue the program starts up but a lot of the fields under Graphics Settings are blank. I tried to post a picture here but it keeps telling me the files I upload are invalid. As I stated before this is my first ever posting to any forum here.

If I click Detect Current Settings everything that is not shaded out (such as FOV, Max Framerate, the Cintrols Binding Enabled checkbox, and DOF) are filled in and I see the message: Could not check GUI color Settings!

I can save the settings to a new profile but when I click on it I get the same error as listed above.

Running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

Doesn't seem to be reading nor setting the SS value correctly.

My version only shows and updates to 1.0.2 whether this is the same as 1.0.2.4 or not, not sure, but that's the only one I'm getting. Any chance you could switch to straightforward .exe downloads rather than the current direct install method?

Thanks! It's hard to diagnose that one, so I suggest you delete all the files in c:\users\[you]\appdata\local\frontier developments\elite dangerous\options\graphics, then run the game, go into graphics settings, and hit apply to recreate them. See if the profiler works after that.

Firstly thanks DrKaii for the post and the app

awesome effort!

However I am also one of the few who are getting the same exceptions when firing up the app. I am using a 64Bit Horizons, and it appears the path specified doesn't actually exist on my PC, its correct as far as Frontier Developments (but note my path for some reason has an underscore in the name) the path where the GraphicsConfiguration.XML is located is actually as follows: ..\users\aa\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\elite-dangerous-64" hence why I think we are getting the exception errors - just a thought, as I am not sure what versions your app has been tested on.

Note I have not made any custom configs this is what FD have created on my PC as a default structure. Is there a way to enter the location of the config file in your app or do you automatically gather that from another location ie registry etc?

Hey mate, the program doesn't use the graphicsconfiguration.xml file you described at all, so that's not the problem. Happy to work directly with one of you to get to the bottom of it. I tried this last night and it seemed to make a right mess of my binds, the names of the saved binds were right but the binds themselves were wrong. For example on my 360 pad binds, none of the sticks worked. I ended up restoring from a back I made of the binds.

Did I do something wrong or is there a bug with binds?

I followed the suggestions in a earlier post https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...er-Detector!?p=4191984&viewfull=1#post4191984 which seems to have cured the problem.

I have just installed EDProfiler and seem to be getting an error when I run it. If I continue then the main screen comes up but anything I press brings the error message up again (copied below). Any ideas? I tried a re-install.

I made a silly mistake as well and now it wont start.

I have the Oculus Store version of ED and that always gives the "Run this application from the Oculus rift blabla" before starting and I wanted to get rid of that.
So I downloaded the stand alone ED version and installed it elsewhere. But I found nowhere in the Profiler to set the path to the elite executable so I deleted all of its settings files, hoping it would ask me again for the location.
Now it only gives an .NET Unhandled Exception: There are multiple root elements, Line 4, position 6.

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling again to no use =(

Managed to solve it. Clicked Continue through the errors, created a new profile, renamed it and restarted the Profiler. No more errors and it works excellently =) Thanks.

That's what I was going to ask about. I thought I might have been doing something stupid trying to set it at 0.65 and it always sets it to 1.0. Hope a fix is found.

Hi, I have a lot of exceptions in the app, especially when I click on presets. Do you think it could be because of my french local settings, and the decimal separators?
I'm unsure.

Example of the message I have (in french) when I click on "High" preset: La conversion de la chaîne "0.9000000" en type 'Double' n'est pas valide.
If I click the default 2D profile I get the message: La conversion de la chaîne "1.0" en type 'Double' n'est pas valide.

Any idea?
