For those of us on capped bandwidth, could you post the delta download size with the patch notes? That way we can decide whether we can update at home or need to go elsewhere. The Launcher itself only mentions how *fast* it consumes my bandwidth, not how much it will download in the end.

If that not resolves your problem i would suggest to uninstall via the launcher and reinstall after that.
I've done this procedure a several times when new builds came up and introduced wierd crashes.

tried validating, disabling antivirus/firewall, deleting the file, uninstalling and reinstalling, and then installing onto a laptop and got same error.
Looking around the net there are alot of people getting the error, and alot of newcomers too. Not good.

Yeah, sucks, have to spend the day doing what i should be, not what i want to.

Most times from what I have read is this is a server side problem, someone said they used a VPN to DL from a different location and it fixed the issue. Since this game is spread through the amazon servers if one of them has a corrupted file then I guess this can happen. I think the issue stems from the files to DL dont match the manifest (hashfile) DLed at the start.

Now please I am no expert in this, if Im wrong dont flame me but please educate me :)

Getting this error too..gonna try re-install.

And now can't even re-install...

I've been fortunate too. I hardly had any issues through the various betas and really only had problems with Gamma 2.05 and 2.06. I've logged a lot of hours since release without incident. Well, I get rather annoyed when I'm about to claim a bounty and the system security ships show up and get the killing shot on the target. That's happened half a dozen times. Do all the hard work knocking out his shields, get him down around 5%, and the cops swoop in and finish him off. I wouldn't call that a glitch though, just annoying.
