so we are mining minerals, no mention of new or just existing
and another hanger type
I wonder if the larger class mk 2 planet hanger can carry all 3 srv's

Well, looks like all info on the actual mining was left out on purpose and we'll find out tomorrow from partner streams.

It will be interesting to see what we are actually mining and how. I assume there will be at least some advantage to having other CMDRs ride along.

Looks like we might be able to deploy six mining thingamajigs and if we have to interact with all of those individually, more players could share the work.

edit: I'm surprised the new Operation isn't related to the Rhino. It sounds interesting. Ship and on-foot activities are quite clearly separated in the initial set of Operations, this new one might tear that wall down a bit.
(Also, the NPCs hiding inside buildings from ship weapons is how Frontier should have gone about weapon balance in the first place imho, instead of making hand-held weapons have the same DPS as huge ship mounted ones.)

Good to see Operations is still actually on FDs radar.

Hopefully PP2 tweaks might also sneak in.

Actually, I was thinking that since the surface mining deposits will be presumably a potentially rich source of merits but also slow to renew - surface mining raids can be conducted on planets rich with such deposits to deprive the opposing Power who actually owns them the opportunity to use the new resource for reinforcement.

the remark in the devlog supports that POV...

or, like in the beginning of colonization, just switch of all reporting tools....
That's not really an option. I feel bad when some data are not published for the science, and deposits are long time private data, meaning it will respawn in some time and you can mine again. So it is something you want to have a private list.
