I seem to have a bug at the moment where every npc ship I meet has no shields, and their shields never restore. :/

I haven't read all 98 pages of the thread so please excuse me if this has already been reported, but the Federal mission progression is acting funny. I was given a Bulletin Board mission saying I was needed in Sol, here's a permit, get there quick. When I arrived, the same quest was showing up as unavailable - basically I was being offered a permit to a system I already had, while I was in the system. I think logging off and then back in again eventually fixed it. So I got another quest, an assassination, in duplicate - ie two quests that were identical apart from the procedurally-generated name of the commander I was being asked to kill. When I killed one of the commanders, both quests showed as complete. Now I've got something almost identical with a similar Federal progression quest at Beta Hydri.

128 tons of superconductors just disappeared... :(

I was selling on the market, when the hourglass thingy started. Waited. Waited some more. Nothing happened. Checked my sidepanels. Came back and the transaction was gone. My cargo was gone, but no credits my way. Holy crab cakes... That's approx. 1 million credits that just went poof.

No point in crying over a game, but this is pathetic.

Ticket created.

Good luck Commanders.

Do they actually have a shield generator on the subsystem tab? There are a lot of suicidal AIs out there that don't have shield generators installed, especially in smaller ships with fewer internal compartments.

Of cause I made a ticket for this

I have major DECREASE of FPS when a CHAFF is launched AND VISIBLE!
I use a high end GAME LAPTOP CLEVO P150EM with an i7-3840M & an AMD HD7970M 2GB DDR5 and paying with FHD and ULTRA SETTINGS, my general FPS is 40-50 fps in stations and 70-110 fps in space.
I found out that the CHAFF effect is decreasing my FPS by 75% (from 100fps to 25pfs), this is also happening with chaff from NPC-ships as long as they are visible in my POV!
I did try also the LOW GFX setting, of cause getting higher FPS but the decrease stays up to 75% regardless the GFX settings. Parallel I do monitor the USAGE of my HD7970M (with MSI AFTERBURNER) normally its between 90-100%, but the moment I fire a CHAFF (flying backwards to see the chaff in my POV) the USAGE also is GOING DOWN to 25%-30%!!
So for some reason my CHAFF GFX effects are causing my HD7970M to THROTTLE DOWN causing MAJOR FPS REDUCTION of 75%!

So after a view more test it seems that other effects have the same impact in fps and GPU usage. Did some bounty hunting in an extraction sight and have many FPS and GPU-usage slowdowns. Normally the GPU usage is always 95-100% but now the numbers are changing very much. I dont know it this is something ED 1.05 did bring or if this has something to do with introduction of the AMD OMEGA DRIVER V14.12 for my HD7970M.

I did compare the CHAFF test with a NVIDIA QUADRO 1000M, and the FPS (off cause much lower then my HD7970M) did NOT CHANGE AT ALL, so for me this is not a general ED problem but related to my AMD HD7970M & DRIVER 14.12!

Would be nice if others with AMD GPU would check this on their systems!

This is a common issue, I must raise a ticket as I have had the same problem for weeks. I got to Chief Petty Officer in the Federation and then i got 2 missions the same to kill some Imperial General, both same but different names, Abe and White as I remember, got them both in their dropships (oddly for empire) and when I returned I was awarded a permit for PLX 695, i forget, you know same message, visit this system and meet someone, I never went as I heard everyone else say nothing happens when u get there, but I havent been able to do any more federation missions because the Bulletin board is blocked up with this one mission that says is unobtainable because I already have the permit to PLX 695.
.
Has this been fixed or is there a solution to this? I will raise a ticket when i can remember what the permit was for.
.
Incidentally, my Federation Status has dropped from Allied to Friendly...is this because I havent undertaken any more missions...?

Omg how frustrating.. 1.06 you cannot deliver cargo to "Seeking Luxuries"..!!

Edit: Worked when I deployed cargo scoop. Didn't have to do that in 1.05

(V1.05) Economy : Stations w/ hughe Distances to Sun - no effect on Trade/Demand metrics

Unsure if it's been officially addressed already, hence I'll post it here.
Stations with hughe Distance to the main Sun show no effect regarding that massive disadvantage.
Since in Trading (and thus supplying a Station or even Reputation work being performed for it) Time is money - those Stations would have to be at a massive disadvantage compared to others who happily sit i.e. 15Ls from their sun, being primary and preferred Trade platforms.

This disadvantage is nowhere to be found in the game on such stations, they're apparently being serviced by the economic engine without any regard to this important factor.
Being the remote islands they are in deep space, prices and demand has to reflect that.

ELITE-350000Ls_NoDemand.jpg

This is your average, >350000Ls (!) distant Station inside a System with competing Stations far closer to the main Sun. It is apparently being fully serviced, doesn't need anything.
No sane trader would ever consider servicing such a Station, especially with far closer alternatives of the same type readily available.
I'd bet Harrison also sits there 0.22LY away and is being fully satisfied and included into the economic background engine like any other.

Stations like these would have to carry "Very High" and "Extreme" Demand levels. Something like valuable goods from far away would have to show prices similar to 'distant rare goods' ...
This is how a real economy works - outside of hardly anyone ever building a Station in such a remote, disadvantaged point anyway - unless there's a really good reason & benefit. Abovementioned types of Stations in the Game don't have any of that.
And as a consequence, they do offer absolutely NIL incentive for a Player to ever dock there. But that incentive is absolutely needed to make Players do that.

Strong recommendation : add such incentives.

(V1.05) Already increased Reputation from Governments does not reflect on related Allegiance Faction Missions

If the Player reaches Friendly/Allied Status with a Government, this is properly reflected inside Systems controlled by Factions with Allegiance to this government (System Reputation if Allegiance Faction is controlling it, Station/Outposts/Ships Green etc.).
However, when doing Bulletin Board Missions for such Factions - the Player is actually starting off at near 0, as if he was just about Neutral with them.

This is further displayed when completing Missions under such conditions. Even with already Friendly or even Allied Status, the actual Faction status (which decides which Quality/Scope of Missions are offered) indeed reads Neutral with the appropriate Trend.
IMHO if a Faction is Friendly/Allied due the Player having achieved this with Rank- or general Government Reputation, the Bulletin Board Missions must reflect that too.
(besides having nearly 0 benefit otherwise, at least this would allow Players with Friendly/Allied Government Reputation to get some actual benefit from it)

ELITE-FriendlyByAllegiance-NeutralBySameFaction.jpg

(Example of being Friendly with the Government - consequently Friendly with that Faction - but running low-level "Neutral-type" Missions that show these results)

Latest update - Friends list seems to have vanished..

Edit: for those of you in Oz, you need to wait for the route planner to update and draw :p

I agree. :)

Simple bug that's been around for a while. Dunno if it's been mentioned in the previous 99 pages:

Class 2 Gas Giants use the description-text for Class 3 Gas Giants in the System View.

Yes I seem have the same problem when I sold my viper to upgrade to the cobra and kitted out with the ksw and cargo scanner, I didn't have the cargo scanner on the viper and this problem never only started since having the cargo scanner, I'll give this a try and see if it helps.

Yea, this issue is occuring when you start scanning with both the kill warrant scanner and the cargo scanner at the same time. I removed the cargo scanner from the firegroup and suddenly i get my bounties in the transactions tab again.

I will update the ticket i created to let the fd devs know.

I don't know if it's just for me but it seems the market supply/demand is frozen. The main system I am trading from always has exactly 86 palladium and 473 gold when i revisit it, regardless of how much I buy.

Using version 1.06 of the game

Took on a mission to give 2 slaves for rep gain in Ross 128 earlier today (around 5:30pm GMT I think) and also deliver 5 food cartridges. I bought them from 2 nearby systems, returned and gave the food carts, but the slaves mission has not appeared on the bulletin board and so I can't finish it. I did get the usual offer to deliver elsewhere but would rather not. In both system and galaxy view the mission icon still shows along with the transactions tab. I have quit and restarted, jumped to another system and back and it still doesn't show. I have 2 slaves in my cargo hold which I would rather be rid of!

On another note, I occasionally try to dock and the landing pads do not register my ship landing - I have to cancel docking and return then it works. The landing pads indicators disappear quite often too.

Running a Xeon 5650, HD7970, M-Audio Delta 1010 - resolution is a somewhat unorthodox 3840x1024, ADSL connection at 15Mb/s. Also running a PS3 controller with DS3 tool.

Great work though guys, the game is growing on me day by day and look forward to further additions and bugfixes.

HUD Symbol when targeting USS

Seems the HUD Symbol changes either to the nearest Sun or sometimes the previously selected or nearest Planet, whenever a USS is targeted (?)
Just looks weird to see i.e. a sun coming up in the HUD holographic representation after targeting a USS...

ELITE-USS-HUD-Symbols.jpg

Type-6 : severely smudged Canopy and acceleration "shaky-cam"

  • After flying a Type-6 again, I noted how extreme the Cockpit shakes around when accelerating. It seems far worse than in any other Ship I've flown so far.
(luckily I'm not using any VR gear - otherwise I'd go sick seeing that prolonged shaking anytime the ship accelerates)
Would really like that to be toned down, as it's really quite extreme (and prolonged due to its general, long acceleration times).

  • Since its Canopy is pretty much rectangular right in front, the GFX 'smear' effect gets a healthy overdose in this ship.

Just examples of it (ship is 100% maintained) :

(insert "wash me please!" joke here ;) )

HUD holographic representation of Stations (the infamous >> ! <<)

For some reason, this is the Symbology for Stations/Outposts :
ELITE-Station-HUD-Symbol.jpg

Request :
Give the exact same HUD hologram that is displayed in normal space when approaching any Station/Outpost.

Reason :
As a few already have lost their ship to unlucky/unsafe "Safe Disengage" events or witnessed very close calls - this would allow to easily avoid certain angles on Stations where this is highly undesirable or even unsafe.
Plus, it would allow for simple line-up to a Disengage to the exact front of the Station (which normally is oriented towards its orbiting object - but is still often tilted quite a bit off that angle).

I'd definitely prefer that over this curious ! Symbol.

When fuel-scooping with my Asp, the smoke that my cockpit emits when cooling back down starts hovering in the cockpit once the fuel scoop has been retracted. The smoke moves about when i change the orientation of my craft, like an object steady in place relative to my ship.
