well i think the images says it all.

and there was another bug with these alternative mission goals (for some kind of reason it didnt take a screenshot, i pressed f10 like 3 times). minutes later i had the same thing with another mission but this time the npc told me to drop off the goods at "&stationname;" however this was only visible in the chatbox, the contract itself had a name in it.
 
Update failed: data.ovx and root.ovl

Hi guys,

New around these parts. I'm having the issue of not being able to play/update/install the game because of this Update failed for file .... \data.ovx" (validation error).
So I followed the steps suggested by the tech support and ended up getting the same error but with a different file by the name root.ovl.

Anyway I have a ticket and they've tried to help me but it's still not working. Also they've stopped talking for now.

I'm a simple guy. I used to be happy spending hours messing around with files to get games running, but I'm a bitter old man now and I just want to play games, eh?

So has any player had this issue and fixed it? And if so, how?
Did you follow the instructions of the support?
Or is there another work around that I'm not privy too?

Random Ship Explosion In Hub

Random ship explosion in Boodt Hub.


I was flying palladium into Boodt Port. I had requested docking and went to my landing pad. Tried to land and was not getting a docking display to show up on my HUD. So I lifted back off and was turning around to leave and try to redock. Without any notice, my ship exploded. Lost 1.3 mil credit worth of palladium.

I have no bounties or unpaid fines of any kind.

I did not run into anything or anyone, but even if I had, I have upgraded shields which wouldn't have even budged. I went from 100% shields and 100% hull to ZERO. Instantly.

I got it on stream if video evidence would help in any way.

Help :(
 
Federation rep bug

So since gamma I've had an unfriendly rep with the feds (and every single fed aligned facction) due to the issue with bounty hunting and the faction the target belonged to, so I figured I would venture to Sol and try to fix it so I went there and chose mother gaia as the faction to grind and have been in and around Sol doing missions for them for around a week now, the only change that has made is in the mission screen it says friendly when I turn in a mission with the upwards arrow but then checking status I have an unfriendly rep and honestly this makes no sense what so ever. Why does the mission success screen tell me I'm friendly with that faction if I'm not? Ticketed! #00000030122

There seems to be a bug with Imperial Summons missions. I can't even accept them because I already have the Achenar system permit. The missions just hang around for ages, and no other imperial rank upgrade missions appear. Right now at Soch I have 3, yes that's right, three simultaneous Imperial Summons missions that I can't accept, all for Achenar.
 
My comms and friends list is broken since the update - no one on the menu screen, no one in the in game comms options. Boooo.

Amusing and annoying bug today. I was at Zaonce station, had just bought goods to trade and was heading to the letterbox. An Anaconda was coming in so I pulled to the side and let him through, he was followed by a Type 9 so I held my position, watching my exit timer counting down. This is when things started to go wrong, the letterbox was full of the Type 9, side on, full thrust, going nowhere, stuck fast. I guess the pilot was drunk. Anyway, he was busy trying every forward and backward thrust manoeuvre he could think of other than to lateral thrust and spin around, though he may simply of been stuck fast by this point.

So bug number 1 is, the AI is too dumb to fly large ships through small spaces, however I think that is actually ok IF the failsafes work, but they do not!

My exit timer was heading below 2 minutes and he was still going no where, the time to dock (inbound) is much higher than the time to exit timer, now it seems the trespass timer wasn't getting to him either. I needed to get out or I was going to get toasted, being unwilling to test the stations timers and guns with me as the target!

I found what looked to be enough space to get my Type 6 past him, got stuck, had to full boost to scrape my way out under threat of trespass destruction for obstruction of the letterbox!

Once outside I turned around to watch this idiot Type 9 continue to do the forward/backward shuffle until I guess the stations security got tired of laughing at him and blew him to bits. If I had waited in the station I would have been destroyd for exceeding my exit timer well before the Type 9 was destroyed.

So bug number 2, the exit timers need to consider any trespass timers in effect, in fact they need to run the test for a trespass ship and act accordingly

This all comes down to the fact I would be destroyed by the same station AI and timers that were failing to deal with the actual offending ship (NPC, but I guess the same would be true of a player?). Had this been open rather than solo there could of been other players also in the same position.

I encountered similar thing the other day. Lakon 9 was blocking the entrance (trying to get in?), there were three NPC ships lined up inside the station willing to get out. I squeezed past the Type 9 and watched outside what would happen. The station destroyed those three innocent ships one by one, but the mad cow in the cowcatcher just wobbled there. :eek: I waited a couple of minutes, then jumped away, station entrance was left blocked.

I have posted about this once before but I encountered this issue again last night and in the end it got my ship shot down by outpost security for trespassing. There has to be a landing bug from time to time.


​This is what happened I approached said outpost and requested docking. I got clearance to land at a landing pad, I go in drop down my landing radar comes on I line my ship up and touch down sitting there nothing happens sitting there I don't get the landing successful engines disengaged and counter is still counting down. I think although I am not maybe I am facing the wrong way so I flip the ship around and touchdown again. Same thing countdown timer still running and it has not excepted my landing. So at this point I take completely off pull up landing gear and re approach. Put landing gear back down and come in again line up or docking radar comes on I am lined up facing right way and touchdown. Again same thing just sitting on the pad timer running no touchdown conformation. By this point running short on time I am some what mad and for some reason I full throttle backwards and ram into the outposts tower LOL. Then I get hit with the trespass timer and I try to take off but I am either stuck on something or ship is broke from hit cause I can't move well you know the rest of the story. LOL outpost security opens fire. LOL No big deal I am not really mad I was able too buy back my somewhat upgraded sidewinder. Just thought this story should be posted here there has to be a landing bug. I am not crazy this is not the first time this has happened at an outpost I just cancel the landing most times and re try and most of the time the second time it works.


Side note This never happens if I go to full on stations and go through the mail slot. :)
 
I thought I would add my landing gear was always down..... Would this be something if it keeps happening I should submit a support ticket??
 
Whilst in game last night on the commodities screen there was a value in the demand column that was 16,000,000 which forced the last digit onto a second line. Might want to add a bit extra width for when figures are into the double figure millions
 
Not getting bounties for destroying ships

Hunting in a Resource Extraction Site around Brani 13.
Several times now, me and the AI Fed ships have been pounding on an Anaconda, and upon it's destruction, I have not been credited with the bounty. It does not flash up in the top right of the screen, or get added to my claims to be turned in. In all cases but one, I was pumping lasers and cannons into him, so not a case of being too long since I last hit him.
Have only noticed it happening with Anaconda ships, and in every case, the ship has blown up with the hull still having 20% or more, so probably the powerplant or something is being destroyed.

Has occurred mostly in 1.06 but happened once with 1.05.
 
Since the most recent patch my friends and I are having a hell of a time getting into the same instances together in private group. There are 3-5 of us playing at any given time. Yesterday 3 of us went to the same nav beacon. Of the 3 players there, 2 could not see each together and could not see or interact with enemy ships either of those players could see. 1 player could see both of the other players and could interact with all enemy ships.

Also. Went to a debris field and could not see/interact with any debris while my wingman could.

It was a pain to get into the same instance with your friends to begin with. Now Its feeling even worse.

i need some help here, i can't switch orbit lines (always on) and some other features (independent from patch-version, wasn't able to try 1.06 yet). If i try to, i hear a "switching" sound, but nothing happens. New installation did not solve the problem. :S

Earned credits in combat are not showing at my contacts panel.. I do scan any pirate before engage and I have already Dangerous rank in combat. After killing i can see blue reward info but its all. No credits to claim. Killed about 100 of npc so i would expect some credits for that and yet there no any. Pls make do something about this.
 
I first went to a system and scanned all planets, moons, suns, then went away to sell the data. All this in private mode.

Then I came back in online mode to show the system to a friend of mine and some of the planets were greyed out and could not be scanned anymore. I can fly to them, they're there but I cannot lock onto them nor detect them with my intermediate discovery scanner. Also, exiting and entering frame shift drive doesn't solve the issue, nor does restarting the game, and going back to private mode leaves the issue unsolved.


The system is: COL 285 SECTOR RG-P B21-3
