The idea has merit...... take out the ED forums with it

tbh I wouldn't be surprised if there simply wasn't anyone available given that these things tend to happen after work hoursMaybe all devs planned a sick day on Wednesday to avoid the stream!
exactly thisWhat happened to the Dev stream that had been talked about? A Dev post isn't really the same thing. If it's going to happen a bit later that's fine, but it really should have been stated in this post. A lot of the community are pinning their hopes on that stream and saying its now just a post without explaining is bound to go down like a lead balloon and Stoke up more salt. Fdev I'm really rooting for you to pull it out of the bag this week please make this good.
This is non-sense. These are developers of a game in crisis. FDev can find devs to make time to give us substantial, credible information. They've had ample time to organize it. If they can't even do that or can't be bothered then this game has gone hollow.tbh I wouldn't be surprised if there simply wasn't anyone available given that these things tend to happen after work hours
they may have done this rather than nothing at all
Come on guys... enough with the nervous baiting and switching. Some of us are trying to find bright sides amid the absolute tidal wave of negativity and anger towards Odyssey. If you say you're gonna do a stream, just do a stream, even if you're uncomfortable about it.Development Update Post: We'll be sharing the latest information on the development of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey.
Their upcoming games are licensed IP. If the people who's licenses they have acquired are following how they have handled Odyssey it is very possible that the entire company is in danger. F1 and Games Workshop are both very protective of their brands.come on you don't believe that
Elite could spectacularly implode on itself and take out the ED forums with it and it would have very little impact on the company as a whole

This makes sense, there might as well be a possiblity that all are very busy and no one can be available, however the point is not that it is not happening per se, but the fact that there is no communication to confirm our speculations.tbh I wouldn't be surprised if there simply wasn't anyone available given that these things tend to happen after work hours

ow trust me I'm not trying to make excuses for them, I'm as frustrated as all of you, just pointing out a possible scenarioThis is non-sense. These are developers of a game in crisis. FDevs other games are flying, its even said that they bring in far more money than ED, that's where they will be looking atTheir upcoming games are licensed IP. It's a possible scenario that is entirely detached from the reality of the situation. "There simply wasn't anyone available given that these things tend to happen after work hours" simply can not exist in their mindset or language right now. Again, they've had ample time to organize this. There's no excuse unless they're just not concerned about the survival of Elite. The future of Elite pivots this week on the dev post as well as the promised dev stream.ow trust me I'm not trying to make excuses for them, I'm as frustrated as all of you, just pointing out a possible scenario
Games Workshop isn't protective of their licence when it comes to games. Dozens ranging from great to awful have released over the past few years.Their upcoming games are licensed IP. From what I remember the F1 license can be ended early if the return is not as expected.Games Workshop isn't protection of their licence when it comes to games. Dozens ranging from great to awful have released over the past few years.
F1 is the complete opposite however, and I very much expect that Formula One Group are keeping a careful eye on Elite Dangerous Odyssey reception and FDev's reputation as a result.
Probably; I'd expect Formula One Group to have prudent contract terms like that. From what I remember the F1 license can be ended early if the return is not as expected.
'Update post' eeeps, I suspect this community is going to lose its mind :/ Good luck this week guys I think you are going to need it!
