News Elite Dangerous Event Season '16

With the summer events season underway, we wanted to run down some of the events we’ll be attending and give you a rough idea of what we have planned so you can join in the fun.

AUGUST

Gamescom –August 17/21 - COLOGNE MESSE – Just like last year we’ll be streaming live from the show floor from the official Elite Dangerous accounts. We’ll have special guest interviews, sneak previews of content coming in season 2 and much more. We’ve got a content schedule planned that we’re sure will keep you coming back every day for more, so make sure you don’t miss out on the biggest Elite Dangerous stream of the year. More information on our schedule coming soon, but streams will be live every day over at https://www.youtube.com/user/FrontierDevelopments/live WEBSITE/TICKETS - http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/gamescom/index-9.php

Elite Meet, Cologne Gamescom 2016 – August 18 – COLOGNE CENTRE, GERMANY –We couldn’t visit our friends in Cologne without hosting another Community Event. Last year was a lot of fun, so we wanted to replicate that experience again. Meet the developers, ask questions at our panel, win prizes in the raffle, eat food, drink Kolsch, and much more. What’s more the event is absolutely free!

You can request your tickets for the Elite Meet Gamescom Event by emailing community@frontier.co.uk with the subject line ‘Elite Meet Gamescom’. We will then assign up to 150 tickets at random to join us for the event and those people will be emailed back to confirm their tickets and the event location details on Monday 25 July. You can request up to two tickets per person as a standard request. If you wish to request additional tickets please outline how many tickets and the details of your request in the body of the email. Please remember that tickets are limited so we’re asking that you only request the number of tickets you are definitely going to require. For the same reason, please only request tickets if you are certain you are able to attend.

SEPTEMBER

Legends of Gaming – Sept 10/11 – ALEXANDRA PALACE, LONDON - We’ve got a stage setup at the Alexandra Palace for the Legends of Gaming event, where we’ll be introducing YouTubers to Elite Dangerous. The event will be livestreamed and the content focusing on telling new people about Elite Dangerous. Streaming sessions will be dedicated to showing off the various features of Elite, and having somefun with some YouTubers who are new to Elite Dangerous. Elite Meet Birmingham EGX – DATE TBC (BETWEEN 22-25 SEPT) – VENUE TBC, BIRMINGHAM CENTRE – Although we’re not on the show floor this year, we decided to host an official community meet up that will make the trip to Birmingham for EGX worth it for any Elite Dangerous fan. We’ll have some really great Elite themed content, food, drink and more… with a large Frontier Developments presence. This will be the largest community event that Frontier will be hosting in the UK this year, but tickets will be tight… register for tickets by following the instructions below.

Register for tickets to the Elite Meet Birmingham Event by emailing community@frontier.co.uk with the subject line ‘Elite Meet Birmingham EGX’. We will then assign the tickets at random to join us for the event and those people will be emailed back to confirm their tickets and the event location details closer to the date.

TwitchCon – Sept 30/Oct 02 – SAN DIEGO CONVENTION CENTRE – We’re still talking to Twitch about the exact details of our presence at Twitchcon this year, but we’ll certainly have a small Frontier Developments presence. If any streamers or players want to chat, then Frontier staff will be there to talk about anything to do with streaming, Twitchcon, Elite Dangerous or even the beautiful San Diego weather. We’ll have more information on our activities at TwitchCon as soon as they’re available to share. WEBSITE/TICKETS -http://www.twitchcon.com/

Note that the EliteMeet mentioned isn't the official one... It's a knockoff 'organised' by some scummy business called Frontier (never heard of them)... Bunch of shysters and scumbags I suspect ;)

The OFFICIAL ELITEMEET will held again next April in the Bristol area... You heard it here first... sort of... possibly... who are you and why are you here?

ANNOUNCEMENT: I get tired and (a little bit) grumpy by day five.

Keep us posted .. Bristol, I can do.

Cheers for the heads' up on upcoming events Ed Lewis Community Manager.

I have emailed for 2 tickets for the Birmingham Elite meet, it will be my first ever event of this kind (or any gaming event actually) so i really hope i get my tickets for myself and the wife. (hint, hint Mr Ed Lewis)
My question though is, will this be a seperate event to EGX, or will i need EGX tickets too. And is it likely to be held in the Birmingham centre the same, or a seperate venue afterwards.
