You don't seem to understand my reasoning but that's okay.

I am talking about respecting the word given, the reliability of a company at the commercial level and the sustainability of its customers' confidence for the future.

But if you don't understand these core values, that's okay as you will see for yourself in the future that Frontier will never unlock the Cobra Mk IV because it is a serious company and concerned about his reputation.

A deal means a contract in which terms and conditions are announced.
However, you spoke about the "word" - I understand this is not a written assurance, but a sound with meaning.

The debate about releasing the Cobra mk4 to the rest is a tunnel with no end.
Only two solutions could end it, either Fdev releases the darn thing or the non owners stop whining about it, which we all know neither will happen.

If Fdev would introduce a poll then I'd vote yes, just to get rid of the whining by those who don't have it.

It's stupid realy, when I bought my car I was one month late or I would have gotten some special edition rims.
Bummer but that's life, no need to get all tight about it or bother the dealer as if my car isn't complete without those rims.

They should do the poll the way they did the ship transfer one and e-mail only MK-IV owners.

Based on past MK-IV threads the majority will vote to release it. I certainly will.

I’d quite happily vote for that, but how about this solution as a compromise:

The Cobra MkIV will remain an exclusive ship - all current owners or those with access-to-purchase can forego their Cobra MkIV’s which will release that one vessel into a shipyard in the game. Thus a limited amount of MkIV’s will become available for any player to purchase. If sold at some future point, that one vessel will again become available to buy.

I’m sure there would be enough current owners who’d release their IV’s to satisfy the demand by those players who really, really want one. And hopefully the limited numbers would satisfy those who value “exclusivity” and want other players to really, really not have one

You think changing the MK-IV thing would be a mark of untrustworthiness.

I think an exclusive ship is a bad idea from a future proofing point of view. That FDEV already said it was a mistake. That the deals already been changed more than once. That it's been five years and it's not a big deal anyway and I'm aware FDEV can change the game as they see fit which I'm fine with.

So on balance although I understand your view mine is that correcting that mistake by rolling it out to everyone would be the most trustworthy and moral thing to do and that it would garner more congratulation than condemnation and be good for their reputation.

Not really. Plenty of games have exclusive items, and just like the Cobra Mk IV, they are generally either cosmetic or making little difference in the grand scheme of things.

Quit stating FDEV said it was a mistake, or find the reference.

True plenty of games have exclusive items. However if I go through my collection I can see more "exclusive" stuff I got thrown in free when I got the game a few years later than I actually got according to the exclusive deals.

However I won't stop saying FDEV said it was a mistake as it's a fact that they said that. You might not like it, but it's still true.

Actually a mistake was made with the Cobra Mk IV, back in the days: We got a Viper Mk IV for free, and when the Cobra Mk IV was announced as a present to early backers, the impression was made that it was also free. But it wasn't; we were able to access it but still had to buy it for cold hard credits.

Maybe that's the mistake you so dimly remember. Now please stop posting more un-supported nonsense.

It's not true until you prove it - it's 'your opinion'. They also said, more recently, no CM4 for new people. So there is that.

The Cobra MK IV was an excluve reward to PC and XBOX players that upgraded to Horizons within a year

There have been LOTS of complaints about Stigbob's claim that Fdev stated that the Cobra Mk IV was a mistake.

@Stigbob - please supply your reference or I will start to apply trolling infractions for these posts.

And everyone else can either not respond or use the block function please, as I and others on the moderation team really do not need to deal with this bickering every day.

Even if during one of the livestreams someone said that C4 being exclusive was a mistake doesn't mean anything. it's not official Frontier stance, just something someone said. What you remember doesn't have a context too - he could've said it as a joke, because he was tired of the subject being brought up over and over again.
But even if this wasn't a joke and everyone at Frontier thinks this was a mistake and giving away ship as exclusive was bad idea, it doesn't mean they will do another mistake and nullify deals they made. Whether you think it would be ok or not and you "wouldn't mind" doesn't mean anything in this case.
