Elite Dangerous: In Case You Missed It | Update 14 Release Date and More!

That's a great plan.
It's almost like it's a good idea to let professional game designers get on with their jobs and stop listening to vocal forumorons trying to make stuff easier all the time.
You've got this wrong. Not listening adequately to other people is how you run into mistakes in game design...and much of life, really.

Note that listening to people and considering what their views are is different from just mindlessly doing what they tell you.

Personally, the pay out doesn't really bother me, I just wish that the act of scanning involved a modicum of skill and some player agency. I know some people are probably content with it, but to me it's something that could potentially be like deep core mining at the molecular level, but instead it's essentially "stain spotting".
I don't mind the point and click aspect of it, it keeps the activity pretty chill on the whole so I would want to keep that. However, I would be all for additional layers of complexity in relation to what happens after that or as another option. To use your example, you can still laser mine a core asteroid. I also think onfoot mat mining would be awesome as I have mentioned elsewhere..

I am so excited! it will be interesting who will be helping the new interceptor, Hope they are controlled from an alien cockpit this time :p

keep up the good work o7

O7

The NPC rag doll behavior remains a shocking state to still see this happening, NPC corpses looking contorted like a horror movie, corpses hanging mid air when returning to their deceased location, half embedded in the floor (corpses and live) inside a settlement or outside, and the worst experience, corpses disappearing limiting the number of bodies around, even immediately after killing (lost bounty scans in settlements). Why to what benefit, none? All this still exists after so many patches.....

The NPC AI, an area that needs improvement for reasonable immersion.

More NPC life on settlements, Ports, and Stations, with reasonable AI, interaction, and movement around the areas e.g. AC, DL, DL2, etc. One can only wish and dream.

Bets are on, no fixes or improvements.

Maybe a change to the sampler to make it so you had to stop the animated rings in a certain fashion in order to take a sample... OH, wait...

;)
That's the kind of gameplay that comes to your mind when you hear the word Exobiology? 😝

Imho it was a good decision by Frontier to get rid of that. And a hard one - nobody likes to throw their work away.

Sounds interesting, new thargoid stuff is always nice to have. But... could there be an AA fix as well as an lighting fix be included in the update? *wink *wink I'm sure the new content could profit from it ;-)

Absolutely.

Keep the "chilled" option, but allow a deeper level for players that want (or that the "chilled" players may sometimes want) more depth to the process.

I would really feel satisfied if they once and for all fix the game. The disconnection problems between players with the instances. Game disconnection failures (The famous type codes: Purple Python, etc.)

I hope you were not too disturbed when the purpose of my post went clear over your head. Must try harder. ;)

I wouldn't have thought anyone who took part in the Alpha would get that wrong, to borrow phrase from a well known Elf...."I was there Gandalf, a thousand years ago I was there!"

The spinny twitch mini-game was universally objected to! (y)

There are changes I wouldn't mind seeing and I have expressed those elsewhere on the forums where input was requested, one wonders whether any of that input is being used in buffing the exo payout!

I hope we finally get a huge AX weapon even if it's just at Human AX power levels. My OCD doesn't like stuffing smaller guns on huge slots. What if they come loose and rattle about in the hardpoint?

The trouble with the huge weapons is they don’t come with turrets, which takes away the fun.

Yeah, thought about that. Might be dull if it was a Multi-Cannon, but maybe there could be a gimballed exeption to the pattern. My best case scenario would be an AX equivalent of Cannon, perhaps with its already respectable AP value beefed up slightly, but a big Multi-Cannon is probably the most realistic one.
