Elite Dangerous Issue Report - 07/09/2021

Your solution to the limited gameplay during apex rides is quite comedic.
I use Apex quite a lot and I think the re direct is great to help with the core issue. The underlying root problem is the risk of unnecessary excessive time in Apex where the player has no control. Redirecting Apex gives you in essence the same control you have when you fly your own ship, so time to destinations and time in flight should be in the same ballpark now. Much rather have the ability to fully control my flight at any time than the option to play a mini game while I waste my time in a flight I suddenly dont need any more for whatever reason.

By the way they handle things - not likely!

If you click on the Confirmed issues - then filter by "Top Voted" - This one is the only issue that's not acknowledged in the first 2 pages (which total 19 acknowledged issues, 1 unacknowledged).

If you go to the third page, 9 are acknowledged, one isn't. That one is about BGS balancing regarding bounties. Fourth page all acknowledged, 5th page 8 acknowledged, 2 unacknowledged. One of the unacknowledged issues is about BGS too, and the other about "thrusters not feeling like they used to".

I don't know, seems like a deliberate attempt at ignoring these issues. It's not as clear cut as that once you filter by top voted. This one stands out as the only issue that's not acknowledged of the first 27 issues in the tracker that are top voted and confirmed. Then there's one issue that's not acknowledged, funnily enough about the BGS, followed by 15 acknowledged issues.
Sure. Issues which receive organised campaigning aside, the older issues tend to have more votes.

The problem with the Acknowledgement process is serious whether or not they're deliberately avoiding your bug.

Equally, they absolutely need to address the perception that they're deliberately avoiding your bug. Which would be easy enough to do, of course, by adding it to the report.

Are there further 'fixes' to lighting in Update 7 @Bruce G ?
Emissive decals not emissive, bobbleheads (Halloween Skull eye is dull as is the glowing 'skin') and general dullness for most PJs are still very evident in the game.

Otherwise, all looks good!
Yes and don't forget the dreadful mess the two Coriolis Station bobbleheads are currently in. Mine have been removed from dash until fixed...paid good money for these items!!!!

Greetings Commanders!

It's time for our second Issue Report. Below is the updated Top 20 Issues Table, listing the highest voted issues on the Issue Tracker.

Note: the status and planned release of each issue is subject to change as various factors affect the ongoing development schedule.

View attachment 261267

Top 20 Issues

1. Problems With Lighting And Illumination - this issue is due to be closed with Update 7 as general issues with lighting have been resolved. If you experience any further lighting related issues, please create new issues on the tracker for each specific instance.
2. Degraded Terrain Textures Compared To Horizons - as with the issue above, this is largely resolved. For individual texture-related issues, please report them as new specific instances with as much description and information as possible.
3. Tiling Planetary Features - this remains under investigation.
4. Low FPS Performance In Odyssey - improvements in the area are ongoing, including improvements in coming in Update 7 and future Updates.
5. Limited Gameplay During Apex Shuttle Rides - the upcoming Apex Redirect feature should resolve much of the frustrations that gave rise to this issue, so it will be closed with Update 7.
6. Game Hangs On Exit Sometimes - this remains under investigation.
7. Invincible Thargoid Heart - the fix for this issue is coming in Update 7, after which we will close this issue if successful.
8. Anti-Aliasing Not Working Correctly - anti-aliasing as a whole remains under investigation.
9. Joystick Buttons 32+ Not Working - this is now under investigation.
10. Increased Performance Problems Since Update 5 - further improvements are expected in Update 7 while long term further optimisation is ongoing.
11. Expose Telemetry For Motion Simulators - this proposition is still being discussed internally.
12. Empty NHSS Signals In Odyssey - this has been confirmed as fixed internally in time for Update 7 and will be closed once confirmed in the live game.
13. Dav's Hope Not Spawning Materials - this also appears fixed internally, ready for Update 7. We are investigating whether other locations have been affected.
14. Supercruise Stuck At 0 - this remains under investigation.
15. Fleet Carrier Modules And Finances Not Calculated As Assets - this has been confirmed as fixed internally in time for Update 7 and will be closed once confirmed in the live game.
16. NPC Fighter Kills In Conflict Zones Count As Progression - this appears to be fixed in time for Update 7, we are awaiting internal confirmation.
17. Support Missions Have Been Culled - this has been confirmed as fixed internally in time for Update 7 and will be closed once confirmed in the live game.
18. System And Galaxy Map Misalignment In Widescreen Aspect Ratios - this remains under investigation.
19. Planet & Moon Orbit Lines Not Visible In The FSS When In VR - this remains under investigation.

20. Missions And Rewards Not Sharing With The Team - some fixes for this are included in Update 7, with further ones planned for Update 8.

This is a reflection of the current situation, and due to the ever-evolving nature of game development, the planned release for these fixes is subject to change. We appreciate that the listed issues are similar to the previous report, this is because many of them will be closed after the upcoming Update 7. Let us know what you think of this report below!

What happened with the real #6 issue that the community clearly voted on? “Automated accounts are used to influence BGS and Powerplay”

It's amazing to me that with all the issues we have with the current build, that the community feels like this ^ is a few votes shy of the Top Ten. :ROFLMAO: 🤷‍♂️

Also - and maybe this isn't the place to ask - but, regarding the "botting" issue...maybe it's just not happening? I don't know a whole lot about BGS, admittedly, but maybe FDev are monitoring the situation and aren't finding evidence? I'm currently embroiled in a bit of hubbub and the group with which I am working has been loosely accused of "botting" but I can assure you that we are not. So maybe it's just not happening?

Now you've done it :D

The perils of stuffing the issue tracker with feature requests - whodathunkit :)
This reminds me somewhat of the Latvian Tempest in a Tea Cup over the prerelease keys. FDev tried to be polite with a bit of a misdirection but then when pressed, well, told the honest - if not somewhat harsh - truth. I think they are doing a bit of the same here. By removing it and not addressing it, it's a subtle way of saying "Guys, this isn't a thing." Rather than going on the record that players are being intentionally disingenuous.

As others have said there could be genuine cases of botting but a good portion of issues might just be a player not understanding bgs/powerplay.

Anyway what do we know twenty five thousand players agree it is an issue that Frontier must deal with.

It's time for an exactly date for Update 7. And things on performance i don't like... It always sounds like we don't know how to fix this 100%
