I'm not doing your searching for you, just look up the words Newtonian, Wipe, and Griefer for lots of historical hair-pulling and gnashing of teeth. Or don't.
As for negligence vs gross negligence, it's obvious...one is not taking enough care, and the other is not taking enough care 144 times, or not taking care of something that's yucky, or something. Doesn't matter either way, they're not breaking the law, it's not a big deal. Get over it.
Why I typed "speculation" is anyone's guess...

Yeah I don't need to, I didn't make unsubstantiated claims, even with correlation to the specific references, you're not proving causation, and truthfully cannot prove your claims, so of course you won't be making the effort to begin with :)

Never said they broke the law, never said it was a big deal, they still neglected the community in this matter that it is "gross negligence"

Indeed, with sourced statements from Frontier it's hard to figure out why exactly.

I am one of the people who obviously want their Steam key. If ED was going to be released on Steam why weren't buyers provided with a key to begin with? I don't suppose they hastily decided on this last week! All this dismissive "well take a look into it and see" is worrysome. Class action anyone? Let's not have to resort to this. Has there been an official apology and explanation as to why we don't have out Steam keys already?

Steam key Please.

With over 750 games on Steam, I would prefer to have my version of Elite Dangerous in my Steam library.
It's all well and good saying in the Steam Forums that you can add a 'non-steam' link to Steam, but they are missing out on the bigger picture here.

1. Non-Steam link players cannot link to friends who own the game on Steam.
2. Non-Steam link players cannot leave reviews.
3. Non-Steam link players cannot link to video's or screenshots.
4. Non-Steam link players who are 'Curators' cannot recommend the game.

Therefore it's common sense to give existing players Steam keys if required.

I have almost 1300 games on Steam and I'd prefer my Elite in my library too, but... there is one nonsense "fact" here:

3. Sure you can do screenshots and upload them to Steam and show them to the world. All you need to do is to name the "non-steam-game" properly and upload the screenshots right after finishing the game. I have a lot of screenshots in my screenshots-library and I do not own the games on steam itself (but on Origin or Uplay).

e.g.: http://steamcommunity.com/id/singler/screenshots/?appid=sc_327834 I do not have this game in my Steam Library but in my Uplay Library. Making the link and name it properly solved the problem.

I would just like to add my voice to those wishing for a steam key. This should be a no-brainer really. The fact is a steam key should be issued to all those who already have the game those who don't want to use it don't have to use it. There is no real reason why anybody should be against it, the game is on Steam and as far as I am concerned if it's on Steam all those people who want to add it to there library should be able to.

lol, so when you buy something, you need to have the complete list of every malls where you can find it?

I'm not sure what you mean, but if you're trying to argue that Frontier didn't know about Steam, well it's the biggest Digital Distribution platform in the world with 125 million active users, and a daily 8-9 million concurrently active users, it even beat Xbox Live a while back.

So yeah I don't have a list of every Distribution Platform in the world, but I assure Steam is on top of that list, as it should be with any person in the gaming industry. Competitor, partner or otherwise.

I don't understand too why people who had purchased a digital elite dangerous version on the main site can't automatically claim their steam key , maybe in a new option / account management tab or I don't know. It's can be done easy and auto by elite devs and a lot of games are doing that too so .... Add non-steam games don't really resolve this problem.

+1 for Steam key please. I only play ED solo, but I've often come to an event I'm not happy with and put the game aside, meaning to wait for an update, and then forgotten about it for weeks. Since this is tagged as an MMO I guess that the greater the number of players contributing to the universe the better, so the game might also benefit from this.

Side point, and apologies if this has been covered: would Steam charge FD for keys being given to existing non-Steam players free?

Extremely disappointed by this. I backed Elite Dangerous on Kickstarter. If I had known that, by backing early, I would be forced to play an inferior version of the game divorced from my game library, my friends, and my community environment - I would not have backed.

I have avoided playing, knowing that a Steam version was coming. Now it's out, and now I'm told I'm a 2nd class citizen who doesn't get to play inside the Steam environment. I'm forced to manage my game asset through some no-name C-tier company called "Frontier" from the UK if I want to play.

Frontier, you have ted on your customers and you should be ashamed of yourself. I'm happy for all the negative publicity you've gotten. I was 100% for Elite: Dangerous and now I'm hoping beyond hope that Star Citizen or some other games stomps your company into the gutter.

I was keen to play the game, so once it was released I bought it, and I've had a lot of fun playing it. Seeing as how I believed in the product before it was available for purchase through one of the most popular platforms on the PC I should not be excluded form the group of people that can reap the beneffits of full Steam support on account of having bought the game at an earlier time.

Steam Keys for all owners of Elite: Dangerous!

It's EXACTLY the same game. People on Steam aren't getting a version with 50 extra ships and a whole new mission structure.
