You're comparing apples to oranges there.

Who's angry? I'm not a fan of how Valve does business, that is true, and I think that those campaigning to get their copy of this game linked in to the Steam infrastructure are like turkeys voting for Thanksgiving/Christmas/Turkey-Eating Day (pick the one that applies to you). I'm not emotionally invested in any of it, though. There are more important things to concern one's self with, frankly.
People want to moan about stuff, they like it. I get it. It can even be fun! They moan about this, it either gets done or it doesn't, then they move on and find a new thing to moan about. Unless it's the offline brigade, of course, they take any and every opportunity to point out the evils of Frontier as they see them like street-corner preachers who are curiously always online.
Great, you do understand that much like not having to launch the game via steam, you also don't have to keep clicking on this topic and reading replies, since both of those seem so unpalatable to you.
I am a bit skeptical about this, can you provide links to said titles and the fact that they didn't pay for keys? I want to be wrong about steam wanting money from frontier part of the money frontier already has earned. Then some banged on about the 'cost of Steam keys', but then we have about 15 other titles published where the dev have indicated they didn't pay Valve for keys. So, guess what - not true (unless Frontier are now this one magic exception, where an NDA magically makes Valve want to charge for keys all of a sudden, which is pretty much the definition of a straw man).
So i got a steam key, a drm free copy, and an Ouya copy.. For $15.

I didn't expect an immediate answer to the Steam question, but going on 4 weeks since the Steam launch and still no official wordI wonder what the issues are or if this has been discarded now.
Frontier,
Could you please advise what is going on with the Steam keys? Is it in progress, is it still being investigated, is it still some time off or expecting something to advise your customers any time soon?
Either way it turns out, it would be great to get a response and update to alleviate people's ongoing concerns around this.
Thank you from a patient fan.
You really need to realise that what applies to one game means nothing to other games. Unless you can produce the contract between Valve and Frontier you don't what's going on.

You have to realise that the burden of proof falls to you, we've proven our argument.
You can't use this fallacy to further your argument that we might be wrong based on the fact that we don't know the agreement, we don't have to, you have to prove that the agreement is different, we don't have to prove that it isn't.
I can tell you from experience that the agreement is boilerplate so it's definitely not different, but don't let that hold you back, prove us wrong instead of your fairy tales of what might be.
It is amazing, people have been playing the game for quite a while, but because it ends up on steam, suddenly a steam key is needed apparently very very badly, the game itself hasn't changed at all?How can you still argue about this? lol
255 pages about Steam. Crazy...

Sure a steam key and or linking or whatever would be nice, but it is really this crucial?
What? Did you mean to quote me here?A debate about something usually involves differing opinions. Why does seeing a negative view of Valve bother you so much?
What vacuum, launch launcher play game? maybe it is just me, but I do not see how getting a steam key is going to change anything with the only exception of auto updater, and that to me is just about like 5-10 minutes of convenience issue. No, but the nature abhors a vacuum and FD have created a small one on this issue. A couple of single line responses from Michael and this could have been over about a month ago.
The majority of the pages in this thread (plus the 3300 message one on the Steam forum 'where is my key?' sticky) are individual one-off member requests for a steam key. The rest are mainly either (a) people who don't like Steam and think the world really needs to know and (b) people like you who keep commenting that 'you don't care, but please stop me from having to read/reply on this thread again and again'.
Frontier having already completed the store integration makes me suspect this will all soon be over anyway.

Just produce your steam/valve receipt for ED and you get your steam key right away.
Without one valve/steam owe you nothing definitely not free access to a product you haven't purchased.
