No VR support is extremely disappointing. I sincerely won't be buying Odyssey then, and my excitement for the new era is obviously gone.
I expected a minimally viable VR experience for stuff on legs (such as, you're in VR, but you don't have roomscale and motion controls, ya use your choice of controllers to move, that's all fine for me), but to not have it supported is awful. This game is mainly fun because it's a VR game.
All I can do for now is complain and remove the game from my Steam Wishlist. The other new additions don't come close to covering for the lack of VR. And even though Horizons and the base game will still have VR, that's a game that hasn't been updated substantially in ages... there's no reason for someone like me to try to help support future development with buying cosmetics like I have been, or to be a dork who would've pre-ordered Odyssey the moment it was for sale (and of course I'm now a dork who simply won't buy it).
And the idea of needing to switch back and forth, playing in VR in the old game for a bit and then switching to Odyssey... no thanks! That sounds lame. How is that meant to work? At what point do we hit the non-VR wall?
Hopefully Frontier reconsiders!
